Stars step up for the Kennedy kudos
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 10:39 PM by Sannum
Wow--I am shocked that Elton John, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Robert Downey Jr. and Steven Spielberg would show up to an event that involves Bush in any form. They are all proud liberals. Please tell me they have not all gone to the dark side.

(Variety) — GOOD MORNING from Washington and a weekend that was "the one oasis of the year for Democrats," said Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.). He was referring to the Kennedy Center Honors, at which the Democrats were represented not only in attendance but also among the six honorees: Warren Beatty (news), Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Elton John (news), Joan Sutherland and John Williams. Jack Nicholson, a presenter to Beatty (which will air Dec. 21 on CBS), said, "For years, Warren has dreamed of attending these awards, unfortunately not exactly as a Kennedy Center Honoree, but as the president of the United States."

1. There is a thread from earlier where someone posted pictures of the
Kerrys and Edwards at the event also.

2. I posted the pics...
I didn't realize that it was the same event. I hope that the aforementioned people have not made a shift to the right. I guess the Kennedy Center events would be considered "artistic" and not "political". If so, I hope that someone in that group made a political statement.

3. I just assumed it is the same event. It is, right?
