Peace activists in L.A. in Christmas Parade
Lighting Up The Darkness In Studio City, CA
6 December 2004

Last night, the Studio City, California Chamber of Commerce held their 9th annual Christmas Parade. Among the entries in the Studio City Christmas Parade was a large contingent of activists from Neighbors For Peace & Justice and Valley for Kerry. Neighbors For Peace & Justice are well known in the Studio City, CA area. They have held Friday night Peace Vigils for over 2 years in the same location.

2. Your welcome!
We had a great turn out and a great reception from the spectators! I hope that other peace activist groups will get some inspiration from this to look into particpating in holiday parades in their areas.

Our cause is viable and worthy and we need to be more visible and mainstream!

5. Creative activism marketing! LOL!
One of our members belongs to the Chamber of Commerce. Because we have such a long standing presence, they were happy to have us. Of course having Ed Asner with us helped too!

7. Far better than retail madness!
If only we could wrap PEACE up in a box and give it to everyone for Christmas...

15. Here in L.A. protesting has become a way of life for many
Not only are there weekly protests in L.A. but there are other protests on a regular basis as well. I would certainly like to see this blossom to other areas... Democrats need to visibly oppose this war and this administration!

16. It was a lot of fun!
On a side note, it seems that one disgruntled spectator sent a letter to the local Chamber of Commerce. I guess that person does not get what freedom of speech is!
