Did you catch the flak about the US Interest Section (a sort-of embassy) in Havana putting up christmas decorations? The US included the number "75" in a not so subtle dig at Cuba's holding of 75 people the State Dept. identifies as political prisoners.
Well, the Cubans retaliated with billboards featuring photos of the victims of American's torture in Abu Gharaib. Game. Set. Match for Cuba.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4105673.stmThanks to Bush's huge hypocrisy on human rights, torture, war and peace, and just about every set of standards for behavior accepted of civlized nations, even Cuba can trump us with the mere setting up of a billboard. What do we say in return? Some crap about it being a rogue operation? Do you think Cubans don't know what is happening in Gitmo?
The US has no credibility on anything, and we should just shut up rather than giving other states the opportunity to point out our hypocrisy, at least until there is an administration that hasn't been so obvious about approving of torture, permanent detentions without trial, civilian casualties, and aggression.
