1. There are two reasons why I support the troops
while not supporting * and is stupid, inane "freedom" building in Iraq. Those are real bullets flying over there and we see graphically heroism right before our eyes. If these soldiers really want to fight, I just wish they were in Afghanistan getting that s.o.b. Bin Laden. I wish the troops in Iraq the best and get the hell out safely soon!!!!!

7. ?
 Not all troops are murderous thugs. I thought I made it clear that I didn't support * but do support our troops as best I can under the circumstances.

IRR 121804

At the moment he was writing his report, the correspondent
said that thick black smoke was billowing up on all sides
from the northern half of al-Fallujah. The
correspondent described the barrage as “ferocious.” He
noted that the Resistance forces had fired more than 30 of
the extremely destructive Ababil (The Ababil-100 is a 400
mm rocket with a range of 150 Kms, a 300 Kg warhead, and
can deliver cluster munitions). rockets alone,
just
between 10:30am and 12:35pm.

Resistance sharpshooters took out 15 American snipers as
of 12:30pm Saturday.

A US soldier spoke to a Mafkarat al-Islam
correspondent
outside al-Fallujah to the north, and described
the
Resistance barrages as “ferocious and relentless.”

Another US soldier to the east of the city near then
strategic al-Butita store houses – the farthest point that
the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent has gone from the
city – said that the Resistance bombardment was “a
relentless attack, such that the city has not seen
before.”

10. Fatally wounded means
dying, not dead. It would be hard in a livefire combat situation to determine the extent of injuries. These soldiers are fighting for each other more than anything else. The Marines, especially, do not leave their wounded or dead behind. I admire these guys immensely.

13. To split a hair, "fatally wounded" means dead, because that's what 'fatal'
means. If he wasn't yet dead, it should have said "gravely". You cannot determine if a wound is 'fatal' until after the victim is dead.

12. You know...
I support our troops but I don't support chimpy mcdickhead...and somehow the repukes morph that into me hating our troops...

man they are dumb...

Why would chimpy care...he probably doesn't bother to look at things like this...and we know he doesn't read the paper...I think if he did see some of these images he would think more about what he has done...

not likely...

14. I have an image of the Chimp that often comes to mind
I think of him like the little boy pictured in illustrations of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Land of Counterpane." There's often a picture of a boy in bed, with little toy soldiers all over his blanket. I think of the Chimp as being like a kid with those little green plastic soldiers, proud to have his own little army, look at me -- bang bang bang... Completely removed from the reality of it.

18. Combine the two ideas
and we get a picture of two dangerous boys, diseased with their own incompetence, creating idealized images of themselves, duping citizens into respecting and following them, and acting out "strength" by having other people kill other people.

Underneath it all, they're still little boys with toy soldiers, dangerous in their inability to grow up enough to feel empathy, to feel powerful without stomping on other people, to live anything close to the Golden Rule. And they remain far removed from the reality of the chaos they cause.

Your image is right on.

whatsoever for the US troops.

It is simply a question of living by the sword and dying by it.

Like the russian troops in Afghanistan, like the israelis in Lebanon.
And unlike those it is an army of volunteers.

What is so goddamned special about they being americans?

They are part of a criminal enterprise: the aggression to a foreign
nation.

Either they are not bright enough to realize it or they DO realize and carry on with it anyway. Either way they pay for one of these mistakes with their blood. Well that's what war is all about!

I will have sympathy for US troops the day they rebel against their
criminal leaders.

with our Imperial Warlord Bush. Express your hatred at the problem, not the symptoms.
