I just wanted to let everyone know because the article naming his cousin is LBN. You may want to lend him some support.

12. Gardeaux08 is my daughter
I watched this 28 year old widow grow up. We danced at her wedding a little over a year ago. If I could do anything to relieve the pain this child is suffering I would in a heartbeat. My heart is broken.

17. Having lost a dear sister, I am deeply saddened for you
and your daughter. Having gone to too many funerals for Marine pilots who crashed and left family behind my husband and I are so deeply sorry.

There is no loss like a child, I saw what it did to my parents. Please know we care about your grief and will not forget your loss and sacrifice.

32. I am so sorry for your loss
Every senseless death in Iraq touches many lives, and causes unbearable pain for the survivors. My heart goes out to you. I will never, ever, be able to forgive what Bush has done to so many families, the pain he has caused, the tragic loss of life he has ordered.

38. She was young married less than a year, no kids, but because he was so
young makes it so hard to accept. Accept isn't even in the picture for a year or so. She was a flight attendant , crash. Her husband had a hard time for a couple of years, then in the third year he met someone and remarried. He said it really hit home with him about life and all when he finally had his first child. I also think the stage you are in when this happens is critical to your being able to see a future left. First year marriages are still in the romantic love stage. But what I do know is that everyone I came across who lost a spouse at a young age has been able to rebuild a life. I hope she will consider a grief counselor, it really helped me to make it through and come out better adjusted. I can't say that of my family who refused to see a counselor.

40. Thank you.
I was going to suggest grief counseling to her but I am going to wait until all the fervor dies down. It's such a shame you lost someone so young. Amanda and Paul were married a little over a year but they were high school sweethearts so she has been with him longer than she hasn't...it's really no wonder that she thinks she can't go on without him. But she will and I know she will.

I'm sorry I was confused about gender, and again, I am so, so sorry you are all going through this. This is so heartbreaking.

Has anyone given any thought to starting a new DU Group forum for families of military personnel?

I just posted on Gardeaux08's thread, but I'll say it again: I am so sorry, and like Gardeaux08, I'm never going to forgive them either.

We tried so hard to make this war not happen. It drives me nuts that we couldn't stop it. Now God alone knows what will.

Our thoughts go out to you and Gardeaux08 and the widow.

 This war has got to STOP!!! It is killing more and more people every day, on both sides, who NEVER wanted this war! People who have loved ones, and who had a good life ahead of them.

It just makes me sick. May the PNACers and the neocons burn in hell for starting this senseless war!

of what I would type. I bet a lot of DUers are at a loss of how to respond to this sad news. I guess it is hard to express feelings. I know that I am still real angry from 2000 until now. I get more angry as time goes on and of all the suffering and death that this Admin. has brought to the world. Condolences for Jim's loss and so many other people, American, Iragi and Afghans. ;0(

I had no words for Amanda and her parents. There is nothing that will bring this young man back. Now this 28 year old child has to pick up whatever pieces are left of her shattered life and try to go on.

Thank you everybody for your kinds words and support. DUers mean more to me than any of you will ever know.

I am so sorry. Since he died fighting for what he believed in, that may be some solace for his family. I am so upset that our country put him in harm's way, in the way that we did. I protest this war! I hate it!......it's wrong! But for this young man.....rest in peace, brave soldier.

My mind just goes blank, thinking about the losses people have to suffer. My daughter has less than a hundred days left in her deployment, and the closer it gets, the greater my fear is. Please, please, let them all come home. I wish there was anything I could do or say to make it bearable, but I don't think there is.
