Poll question: BEST WAY FOR USA TO SPEND 35MILLION: SIGN MICHAEL VICK OR TSUNAMI AID?
Colin Powell almost made me puke puke today when he spinning about how generous the America government is in foreign aid. Luckily, I had an empty stomach.

Nothing derogatory about Michael Vick, he is one of the greatest atheletes ever, I'm just talking American values.

2. Hey billbuckhead,

it's not the USA's money that is paying for Mike Vick's contract - it's the Atlanta Falcons' money.

I get your point about the paultry amount our bastard administration is setting aside for the apocolyptic catastrophe in South Asia as opposed to what an athlete-entertainer makes; but I don't agree with throwing in Vick's well deserved bonus.....

how about Peyton Manning instead?

:hi:

7. I was just trying to show the America idea of proportionality
We only want to give the signing bonus of a star athlete to perhaps one of the greatest tragedies in modern history. Nothing against the athletes themselves even though taxpayers helped many of these athletes develope through our public school systems.

8. Say we give away $35 million
What do we do the next day?

Harry Chapin used to ask about that around Thanksgiving. Do we commit an extra $35 million each day? Certainly crises happen around the world. After all, that's only another $12 billion in an already-bloated and overspent budget.

I wish this weren't true, but we can't save the whole world. No matter what we do, people will starve, drown, freeze, etc.

13. Your point?
What are you saying, then? Do you think that even the paltry 35 million is too much? I'm perplexed. Aren't you the one who is always touting your Christian values around here? Jesus commanded us to give sacrificially and generously. If memory serves, the Bible tells us to give "not grudgingly nor of necessity, for God loveth a cheerful giver." Even the most secular of humanists can see that sharing our relative wealth is the right thing to do, so I don't understand your shrugging this off with a callous "crises happen". Your coldness and indifference to this tragedy make my blood curdle.
