Architecture of Aggression
Born from the dark,
In the black cloak of night.
To envelop its prey below,
Deliver to the light.
To eliminate your enemy,
Hit them in their sleep,
And when all is won and lost,
The spoils of wars are yours to keep.

Great nations built from the bones of the dead,
With mud and straw, blood and sweat,
You know your worth when your enemies
Praise your architecture of aggression.

Ensuing power vacuum,
A toppled leader dies
His body fuels the power fire,
And the flames rise to the sky.
One side of his face a kiss,
The other genocide.
Time to pay with your ass,
A worldwide suicide.

Great nations built from the bones of the dead,
With mud and straw, blood and sweat,
You know your worth when your enemies
Praise your architecture of aggression.

Lyrics by Dave Mustane
Performed by Megadeth

Scary...this song was written in 1992. This just about sums up the war right now.

1. Mustane used to write good political songs
And Megadeth use to make good music, too. After the success of the album that that song is on they went to a more radio friendly sound (that actually started with that album) and dropped the heavy lyrics.

And I agree that the song is as relavent today as it was when it was made.

2. Mustaine is now, sadly, some born-again weirdo
I'm pretty sure his politics have changed, he joined that whole chorus of "what the fuck do you know! you're not the president!" when Moore released F9/11 (as though you have to be the President to have strong opinions of matters of politics-- tell me something, it's still 'we the people,' right Dave?)

3. What? I didn't know about this?!?!
WTF....maybe I should send him a letter. I always loved Megadeth up until that album. I haven't paid much attention to them since, but I had no idea Mustaine was a whack job now. I knew he had drug problems, but Jesus.

5. alot of the AA, CA (crack/cocaine anonymous) groups do that to people
one step is to find some higher power, or something, which basically means be born again. the founder of AA was a born-again, and I think that devoting yourself to religious fanaticism is a shitty way to destroy your addictions.

and yes, I know Dave would put my nuts in a blender if he read this, or at least threaten to.

4. That figures
I heard he was a Christian, but I thought he was the open minded type. The Dave Mustane of 20 years ago would probably commit suicide if he knew that when he was 40 he'd turn into someone like you described.
