Skinner and Moderators,...you somehow manage to maintain an environment that is healthy for democracy, balancing the rules of decency & dignity while maintaining the framework of inclusiveness,...of open expression of thoughts and ideas and emotions.

DU is an incredibly wonderful forum,...where anyone with an open mind and full heart can grow.

Moreover, the talent of DU's participants from all walks of life is stunning!!!

Successfully combining all that talent on one "blogger" is a notable accomplishment.

I am most grateful to have literally stumbled onto such a progressive place.

I would have had a tough time surviving the last four years. Knowing there are good, decent, smart progressive Americans out there has kept me sane. Heartfelt thanks to the admins., mods., and fellow DUers for keeping it going and growing.

it is a life saver knowing there ARE like minds....

As a moderate Republican I expect some flames in my direction but I have found the DU environment to be an overwhelmingly positive experience. I applaud Skinner, the DU Moderators and forum participants for what I believe to be the next voice in the move to a government that truly represents the people.

I've actually been registered as an independent most of my life because I am a mixture that canNOT be defined by mere political affiliation (but, I did change registration this election). I imagine the majority of this melting pot called the U.S.A. realistically falls into more than merely two political "models".

We're prolly "kindred spirits". That's why I admire and return to DU: it offers a place where kindred spirits and human hearts/minds can co-exist so long as they respect EACHOTHER.

NUMBER ONE RULE ON DU: respect one another. The very best rule ever!

That's why I so appreciate the DU model.

I just wish I could bring myself to spend less time around here and more time in the real world! :eyes:

if I hadn't found this place a year ago, I don't know how I would have survived.

Today was another great challenge to all and it was, yet again, handled with grace and fairness. Thanks to all who keep DU an exciting place to visit!
