9. ya its fairly sad
tonight the big story is about the memo controversy because of that report that came out. Only brief mentions of Willaims being paid by bush. That damn liberal media!

14. I agree. Where IS the outrage against Novak?
I never understood how he could go on with his media punditry like nothing happened.

3. Fired?
No. I think he learned a pretty valuable lesson on this one. Plus, I think there is a website devoted soley to Dan. Pathetic.

5. No big fan of Dan Rather --
-- I would prefer to see the entire Fox News division and most certainly their prime-time programming division taken out into a very deep hole and buried alive.

CBS over-stepped its role in the Bush/Guard service documents case, but FOX assaults human decency on an hourly basis.

8. No kidding. Fox news is 99.9 percent bullshit and you only get fired if
you attempt to buck their system.

10. Yes. And in today's news was a report that --
-- Rupert Murdock is buying to own it all now.

So that what's already unforgivably horrendous will be worse still.

Might be time for a MSM media blackout at my house.

11. CNN poll:Do you believe Dan Rather should have been fired?"
I do think he should have been fired. They are letting him off too easily. There is very little credibility in any of the mainstream news media to begin with and letting him keep his job, even if he retires in March is wrong. They should have sent a more forceful message that yellow journalism will not be tolerated.

I do think....(president).. should be... (impeached). They are letting him off too easily. There is very little credibility in..(this administration)...to begin with and letting him keep his job, even if he...(cleans up his act)...(anyday now)...is wrong. They should send a more forceful message that...(you fill in the blank(s)) will not be tolerated. :P

22. I agree
Big media is taking it in the shorts lately. The CBS/Dan Rather misconduct made it that much worse. Today's report is a whitewash. RW blogs and talk radio can only get stronger when the big guys like CBS screw up like they did. That Bush may actually have been AWOL etc is not relevant to CBS misbehaving. If the media wants anyone to take them seriously they need to act responsibly.

26. You're hysterical!
The media CAN'T take time out to not 'misbehave' - they're too busy parroting the lies that spew out of the WH. Got WMDs? Ooo, maybe they're under the sand! Ooooo!

30. That's how much they've distorted the facts. Six months later, and STILL
they're all whiney and wild-eyed about a report that WAS the truth.

No, he shouldn't be fired. Nor should any of the others at CBS who were recently fired because of it.

28. I guess Rather wasn't on the White House media payroll.
If he had been he'd be in the money, not getting a pink slip.

Brokaw retired with fanfare, and why has Peter Jennings not been affected?
