Anybody Else Wondering If Blacks Will Show Up For Dems Anymore ???

With only Boxer in the Senate, standing with the Black Caucus in the House, after thousands and thousands of Blacks and others stood for hours and hours for Kerry and the Dems on election night...

Will they even bother next time around? If you were them, would you???

Remember that they will most likely still go along with the more influential black political leaders like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc. and so on.

The work that Conyers, et al. are doing will be remembered.

In fact, I've never seen AA's stronger for Democrats in my life. Yes they will bother because they've been bothering for 400 years. This is something a white person cannot understand. I would bother.

Schumer's remarks last week were stupidly insensitive!

I sure am glad that the Congress could be bothered for two hours over this. I mean, let's forget about the hundreds of years of slavery, a Civil War, a racist South, and a racists country Blacks and other minorities have been "bothered" by in our nation's history. And it's present... apparently.

Black people didn't quit just because the struggle lasted a long time - and is still ongoing. Just because my candidate and party got their election stolen a second time, that doesn't mean I should give up.

Martin Luther King Jr. didn't quit when he got thrown in jail. I'm not going to quit either.

After November 2nd, I felt like giving up. After Kerry's concession, I was through with the party. Damn it! I can't give up!!!

I think everyone will continue to fight the good fight though. If not that, then what?

but I feel this was against all democrats no matter what color they are. There was white congressman that signed on to the contested Ohio
electoral votes as well. I will support Congressman Conyers and Jesse Jackson not because of color, but because of their convictions.

And I really wish white Dems would find their soul, and if not their soul, then just grow some balls.

and I do not know a black that would entertain the idea of voting rethug at this point.

for the Republicans.

I'm talking about Blacks just saying "The Hell With It!" and sitting it out, or even going 3rd party.

The Republicans have demonstrated that they don't need the Black vote, they just need to suppress it.

And as a white guy, and a life-long Democrat, I am supremely pissed at my party right now.

But thank you for your vote, and your willingness to stick with it. I'm just hoping our party can get its head out of its ass long enough to do the correct thing before the 2006 and 2008 elections.

Standing in unison against the Ohio delegation would have been a great start. But all we had was one. And thank goodness she's MY Senator!

He should have been foaming at the mouth about it. How he could let the Repukes do this two elections in a row.

That's how I feel. If it's not Kerry then it will be somebody else, but eventually a leader will emerge if we keep faith and continue the struggle.

Let alone whole demographic groups. I can't even put together a good argument for supporting the party in it's current form. maybe if Dean takes over it will get better but I am not even sure that will help us after all the damage the DLCers have done.

This is about America and humanity in general. For me, this transcends socio-cultural constructs.

But in regards to the process of voting.

I don't think I would be standing in rain or in the heat to have my vote not counted next time.

Of course I would be so pissed off that I wouldn't want anyone to STOP me from voting, but maybe after a lifetime of such little murders to your soul-you give up and find something else to do-someplace your friends are really your friends.

GET IT FIXED.

Someone explain to me why oh why the Democratic leadership wants to spend the time and effort and appeasment of going after those that don't want to vote Dem instead of damn sure making anyone that does, can and it will be counted.

We are not the miniority party if we include the miniorites.

Hell I'm angry and will remain angry and I'm white and live with the easiest voting in the country. Part of that clearly unfair and unequal access to voting is why I'm shamed. Anyone that can vote easily should be shamed if they knew the challenges and dirty, mean tricks that are employed to actively get Blacks NOT to vote.

Maybe Mr. Blackwell's ancestors didn't have the the same challenges as my black ancestors. Maybe Mr. Blackwell forgot all our people had to endure just for the right to vote. I will not let anyone discourage me enough to sit on the sidelines. I refuse to be a bystander. I will honor the fight of those that came before me and I will continue to vote.

How long will Blacks, or anybody for that matter, wait in line to vote next time???

Many will stand there as long as it takes, but I fear that many others, if it starts taking hours, will just give up and take off.
