Drudge: Bush says "don't see how you can be president .. w/o ... Lord."
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 10:47 PM by Dickie Flatt
Yes, it is Drudge. But when he is talking about soon to be published newspaper articles he is more accurate than not.

http://www.drudgereport.com/flashwt.htm

President Bush granted THE WASHINGTON TIMES an extensive and exclusive interview late Tuesday, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

President Bush said yesterday that he doesn't "see how you can be president without a relationship with the Lord," but that he is always mindful to protect the right of others to worship or not worship. ...

President Bush's policy on women in ground combat takes just four words to articulate: "No women in combat."

1. He manages.

He's not working with any "Lord" I'm familiar with, and I consider myself a Christian of sorts.

Edited for typo.

9. Is this a subconscious admission on his part that without "the Lord"
he's totally useless? There's truth to that.

17. Nah, if there's truth in it,
he wouldn't say it, even subconsciously. I think he's been immunized against truth. Interesting way to look at it though!

2. So Bush is also pretending the women are not in combat?
Does Drudge pray to God as he's humping his boyfriends?

3. I don't care about his relationship with God...but he is a misogynist.
I think that whole "no women in combat" thing is sooooo outmoded and outdated.

Not only should women be allowed to be in combat, they should also be eligible for the draft.

4. i prefer a president who cares more about america than his soul
if push comes to shove, bush would abandon the american people if his "god" told him to, so what the fuck is that for a leader?

to be president you have to be an atheist at heart. you can't worry about your soul or your relationship with some sort of god if you have sworn to defend the US

7. Which version of "the Lord?"
I suppose in theory it's fine for a president to have a relationship with "the Lord." But there are many versions of "the Lord" out there, and it's pretty clear the one he's in a relationship with is an asshole.

19. That's not even the best quote
"I think people attack me because they are fearful that I will then say that you're not equally as patriotic if you're not a religious person," Mr. Bush said. "I've never said that. I've never acted like that. I think that's just the way it is."
