Scary Freeper nationalism

They're mad at Ali G for harrasing rodeo'ers:

I know I'm just an American old fart, but to me 'butchering" the national anthem is NEVER funny. I admit -- sometimes I cry when I hear or sing the national anthem; I love it that much

This guy is no better than Roseanne Barr.

1. They must really be conflicted. . . I mean

They say the same thing he did about Iraq every day, but then that whole National Anthem thing upsets them. . . must be a weird feeling to have your brain split itself in half trying to puzzle over stuff like this :).

Besides, Ali-G isn't an American, it's not his anthem. :)

What do you expect? He's the court jester who makes fun of the king. If you want the Anthem done right the hire Placido Domingo if you want funny then hire Ali G or Barr.

3. I didn't even know who he was

until I caught his show on HBO when I was flipping channels. He was interviewing Ralph Nader and it was hilarious!

5. Ali G isn't an America citizen. What he did is not unlike the US flying

the Canadia flag upside down at the Stanley Cup finals a couple years ago.

if there's one thing I despise more than artificial sentimentality it is having someone else's sentiments about SYMBOLS forced upon me.

Who cares if a play on words makes you cry.

Changing the constitution makes me cry.

9. The national anthem is so hard for some of us to sing...

Why they picked such a difficult tune it beyond me. I have a very limited vocal range, I prefer the tune of "America, The Beautiful" because I can hit all the notes.
When someone with a good voice sings it, it sounds great. I'm just not that person.
