Latest scare: Limousine Bombers at the Inaugural parade.
So if you're attending the festivities, take a p.t. cruiser instead of your stretch limo.

1. Where did you hear that?
Or are you not being serious? Who can tell? People are not allowed to look directly at Bush. After that, I'll believe anything.

3. CNN of course, about 5 minutes on how terrorists COULD use limos
as weapons of mass destruction. hell, a limo, like a humvee, already is a WMD.

5. You're right. I got my foot run over by a limousine once.
Worked out okay. I was lucky.

Okay, so terrorists COULD use limousines. I guess they could also use cufflinks, chewing gum, hair curlers, etc. Will they eventually just strip us and chop us all into little pieces to see if we are armed and dangerous?

I'll fear limousines now. I think I'm still living in fear of atlases. Or was that almanacs? I guess almanacs. I fear almanacs. Do you remember that one?

9. Almanacaphobia is a terrible destroyer of lives, as are Limo bombs
they just need to keep the fear ramped up, and the security tight from we the people.

20. They Could Use Cardassian Disruptors Too
You know how Cardassians harbor terrorists and all. Maybe they'll just change the gravitational constant of the earth and pull the moon into D.C.

Geez, 5 minutes on car bombing the capital. That has zero news value. It's sensationalized and scaremongering.

Herbert Hoover = GW Bush

Neither man cared about the Depression their economic policies created.

I really don't know what to say. That was an "experiece".

Quite a song. Will it ever become our national anthem?

2. So, I gotta know, if Bush is so fucking popular,
why does he have to screen his own guests?

Will anyone in the media ask this question?

If he is so loved, why can't he trust the already pre-screened sycophants who paid thosands of dollars to kiss his ass?

The precautions do seem to be overboard even for Bush or has he become more paranoid?

11. I think its a mixture of fear and show
I mean, they gotta know that there are a lot of people who really hate this administration.

But, I think they play it up to keep the public into the "we're at war, so shut and and do what we say" mentality.

Its probably much easier to force your agenda on people when they think they might be killed tomorrow in a terror attack.

13. You forgot the scuba divers
coming up the drain pipes. Be especially wary if those scuba divers are carrying almanacs.

I can't remember some of the other things we were supposed to fear. The list must be rather long by now.

I'm okay. I have a roll of duct tape. I'm invincible.

8. This is the height of absurdity!
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 08:36 AM by Atman
If getting any higher on BushCo absurdities is possible.

THINK about it, for chrissake! BushCo is counting on the collective idiocy of the American people to not THINK about this...there won't be limosines in this parade that just happen to be there because they merged with the traffic of long black cars. They've all beens scheduled, planned meticulously, for MONTHS. They want us to believe that, like, y'know, we just got this new limo from England that we've never used before, and we're gonna, y'know, just put the president in it, or maybe have it drive behind the president maybe, and then KABLOOIE! HHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Can the really believe were this stupid???????

There isn't a fucking mudflap in this parade that hasn't been thoroughly checked out and under the watchful eyes of the paranoid boy-king tasters. And we're to believe unknown, untested, unaccounted for limos will be rolling right along with them. How? "Oh, you got your little Limo Parking Pass in the windshield? Sure, pull in behind that car with the BUSHCO1 license plate!" My god.

Good thing we have an independant liberal media who won't let them say stuff like "limo bombers" without some serious inquiry. (hmmm....my "Sarcasm OFF" button is frozen...)

22. Yes, of course.......but, admittedly limos with the darkened out windows.
have always sort of freaked me out, ever since having one buzz closely by me and my then S.O. in NYC, slow down briefly, then zoom off. It was in the wee hours of the morning and I have to admit having images of mafia hits on my mind, with us being the unfortunate, mistaken targets.

15. The reason...
About a year ago they found instructions at a training camp directing terrorist to use limos instead of cars because they could pack more explosives in them and no one could see inside. It was not directed at any specific event it was just a suggestion to other terrorist.

16. did they also find a koran right next to the instructions?
cuz that sounds like bullshit to me too...just like the flight manuals they found right next to a koran, that SUPPOSEDLY belonged to the "terraists" of the 911 attacks...

lunacy.

25. Well I do not...
normal respond to any post containing profanity but I am curious why you consider it lunacy. It seems perfectly logical to use limos. They have used everything from Yugos to Ambulances. No one is saying there has been any specific threat but why ignore a possibility??? Would it not be ignorant not to check a limo? What is the harm? If a U-Haul tries to join the parade route should it not be checked? Why not a limo? Because something has not been done before does that mean it will never be done? Is it not the Secret Service's job to prepare and plan for any possible threat? Did anyone mention the Koran?

i dunno, i'm not the OP.

:D

but it sounds like you're on the right track...i doubt many terrorist groups have the funding to fly to america, much less buy/rent a limo and pack it with explosives...

Iraq's insurgents deploy bombs and laundry powder

At a security training centre, insurgents threatened to kill a laundry worker unless he sprayed harmful chemicals on to the clothes of U.S. soldiers and instructors, a police source said...

The worker informed U.S. forces and is believed to be under American protection, the police source said. "The Americans went crazy when they heard about it," he said on condition of anonymity.

"They are analysing the powder. I heard it was a chemical component."

Maybe they're hoping this will be one way to keep protestors away from the inaugural procession. Fat chance!
