Probably fairly well off financially. Dr. King would embrace "trailer park trash" I suspect, because a lot of these people are not financially well off. I'm sitting here listening to the "I have a Dream" speech and it is all about equal rights and peace and love. It is bringing tears to my eyes as I listen.

I have done the same thing. I guess we are all human after all, and have faults. I used to live in a trailer park in my younger days, and am maybe a little too sensitive about it. What the freeplady forgot was the rest of the story: how repukes & Southern dems stopped civil rights legislation until Johnson became president. How he twisted arms and got civilrights laws passed. How southern dems changed into repukes overnite because of this. How the party that bears this legacy is now the republicans. How Dems have fought for decades for equality - be it race or gender or ....

The REAL answer is "Jim Crow Laws were made by people like US, who used to be Democrats before they fougt against and got rid of the Jim Crow laws WE made.
