New Jersey family slaying...what is Fox doing?!?!?!?
I was watching fox news today in a doctors office waiting room and saw all this commotion about a family that had been slain...if this was already posted on DU, I'm sorry. I didn't see it. Anywho, read these two articles, and look how quickly Fox is turning it into terrorism by Muslim extremists. It's quite frightening.

This article reads so differently!

Thoughts or comments?

(for the record, lest anyone accuse me of being a freeper for posting a fox news link, I'm posting them for the sake of comparison only because I'm not a fan of fox and I'm leery of anything they say!)

1. Wow, that IS a fascinating comparison
And no one should accuse you of anything for citing Faux. We do it all the time and it is vital to see instances just as you point out. :)

3. Interesting, huh...
I mean, if friends and family are going to say it was muslim extremists, I'm not gonna get upset with them. They are in mourning, totally in crisis mode, and who can blame them right now? Besides, there is always the possibility that that's really what happened. I'm just disappointed that Fox would be broadcasting it in such a way, especially for so much time on TV, without really any evidence. It's just not helpful.

5. It's helpful to their agenda
And if it turns out to be a random home invasion gone bad, so be it. They already planted another seed out there.

2. I saw the story on FOX yesterday.
I was suspicious of the story because it was on FOX. Reading the MSNBC version says that police are looking into a former tenant who might have killed them.

I hate FOX.

6. Fox is outrageous that we know for sure.
That poor family. Fox shows so much disrespect for people. They make me sick.

7. I saw this on the local news
No one said anything about terrorism. The only "suspect" the police wanted to question was a former tenant who had a dispute with the murdered family. Also, they said there were no signs of forced entry, so it is believed that the family knew their attacker.

9. 6 degrees of separation
This is Faux's general MO. Scott McClellan or anyone else on the neocon team.

Take a story. Downplay / ingnore what is unsupportive of your current buzz.

Then work it back to your theme, in this case hate, fear and badguys.

10. On CBS
it was reported as
"possibly being related to the Coptic Christian faith of the family"

without any further flourishes...
This, at least, leaves the potential identity of perpetrators up in the air.

11. Another DU thread with the story
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 01:54 PM by UL_Approved
Here it is:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1152638

This is being spun even harder on many pro-Israel sites around the Internet. It is quite disturbing how the radical Zionist movement is paralleling Hitler in dehumanizing the Arabs (oh, the irony). This is rapidly turning into hate fiction at the FR.

On edit:

FOX is caught lying. Check the New York Times link in the post I link to above.

13. FOX beating war drums
they love to play up any story of Christians v.s. Islam. Their soon to be crowned fearless leader Dimson Twitsnot needs more cannon fodder for his impending Iran attack. They want fundie bushbots to drag Jr. down to the recruiting office to defend suburban xtianity.
