Want the terrorists to win? Then support the Christian Right
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 09:28 AM by ck4829
RJ Rushdoony has advocated that Christian fundamentalists
take "dominion" over the U.S.; abolish democracy, which he calls a "heresy;" and establish a theocratic state.
www.buildingequality.us/ifas/fw/9501/chalcedon.html

How is this any different from what Al Qaeda supposedly wants? It has been said that the Islamic terrorists want to abolish democracy and put the world under an Islamic Theocracy.

How could a Christian Theocracy be any better than an Islamic Theocracy?

Rushdoony has said that he believes that under such a state, "True to the letter of Old Testament law, homosexuals... adulterers, blasphemers, astro-logers, and other will be executed."

I would fight tooth and nail against anybody who wants to abolish the wall of separation of religion and state, be they Christian, Muslim, or any other religion.

I know there is an Islamic terrorist who somewhere is reading about how the Christian Right plans to mobilize because their victory, and what they plan to do with the United States, and agrees with them.

That's why we haven't had a major terrorist attack since 9/11, because Al Qaeda knew the Christian Right would destroy the United States for them.

4. Rushdoony is major league looney-tunes.
He is to the right of Falwell and Robertson, and makes them look like theological liberals. He is so extreme that until recently he only made me laugh; no one could possible take him seriously, and I was much more concerned about the subtlety of others on the right. But now, extremists like this are held up a standard-bearers and role-models, and these kind of idiotic agendas become mainstream.
That scares the hell out of me! :scared:

5. Christian Reconstructionism and the Christian Right are too similar
Think of the Christian Right as just the mask of Christian Reconstructionism.

Rushdoony, Falwell, Robertson, Gary North, and other Fundamentalists all knew each other and were allies.

6. Yes, they have always been in league together.
But the more power and influence they gain, and the more they have the ear of the White House, they bolder they become. The crazy agenda they are pushing is nothing new, but because it has become mainstream, they are less and less stealthy and more and more blatant.

I used to think their radical ideas would nauseate the average, middle-of-the-road American, and the re-constructionists would be exposed as the lunatics they are once enough people see and hear the truth. But now that the middle of the road has moved so far to the right, I'm not so sure.
