Elite Iranian agent arrested in Iraq
Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 09:17 PM by bemildred
See, torture works.

An agent of Iran's prestigious Jerusalem Force was arrested in Iraq carrying money and planning attacks against U.S. troops, sources said.

U.S. Coalition forces arrested members of an underground armed group operating in Iraq's eastern Diyala province Thursday. Among them was a senior member of the Jerusalem Force carrying $150,000 in cash, said the sources.

The Iranian agent, along with an Iraqi insurgent, reportedly revealed during interrogation the location of a group of other Iranian agents working with them and admitted to having smuggled the group and their weapons through the Iran-Iraq border, avoiding security controls.

The Jerusalem Force is a specialized, elite unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps that reportedly oversees Iran's military activities in other countries.

Incredible convenient timing, just happening to catch these fellows
now and get them to "confess" to all these transgressions.

I was surprised to find out the Iranians had any "prestigious" forces
or "specialized, elite units".

5. Sounds like the Administrations claims of every single Iraqi
captured was a "High Ranking Iraqi official"or a "High ranking al qaeda leader.

But is is the first piece of "proof" the Administration can use to build a case of invasion. You are with us or you are against us.

10. Eh, they do seem to exist, quite a few of them too:
http://www.fas.org/irp/world/iran/qods

They must have a lot of prestigious, specialized, elite troops.

18. And why shouldn't they?
They are a nation of 70+ million that 15 years ago ended a ten year war with Iraq. That means they have millions of veterans and an experienced officer corp, even if their enlisted troops are rookies. Any conflict of that magnitude is going to generate some elite units. As for their intelligence work, they were able to draw on the experience of one of the most vicious secret police in the world when they wrested power from the Shah. And they know that they are a target to the west.

What have they seen in the last few years? Hostile armies establishing themselves on both their eastern and western borders. The US refusing to believe they are not developing nuclear weapons, despite their denials, and they saw how much effect Saddam's similar denials meant.

We (the general American public) may not be getting ready for an invasion. But they sure as shit are.

That seems like a lot of "specialized, elite" troops to me.

9. Although I trust nothing from WND, one has to be naive...
or just ignorant of the situation in Iraq, to think that Iranian agents haven't been flowing back and forth across the border for two years now.

14. How the fuck do they find
a member of the elite Jerusalem Force but can't find Abu Musab al-Zarqawi? How much of this bullshit do they expect me to swallow? This guy is probably so low level he doesn't even know who he works for. I'll bet after a few days of water boarding he told them what they wanted to hear. Jesus, this administration is so full of shit.
