I just heard on the news that the Deficit for this year is already
being stated at $425 billion and it is still January. I seem to recall Bush* saying he would cut the deficit in half not increase it. This was mentioned in passing when they talked about the $80 billion additional funds being requested for Iraq War. Does anyone at all even think about this total fiscal mismanagement of even greater proportion than the Last governor of California was recalled over. America is in a trance and sees nothing but roses.

1. They'll start with a high number like $425 billion...
.. and when it comes to December and the deficit is $395 billion, they can say, "Look! Due to our fiscal discipline we reduced the budget deficit by $30 billion dollars!"

Never mind the fact that the $425 billion figure was an inflated number pulled straight from their ass.

2. It's "The Big Bath" Strategy
described in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Maybe that's where Bush got it from.

3. Don't forget...
That number does not include money for Iraq and Afganistan... which is total BS.

When I do a personal budget, I don't exclude my mortgage as being part of it. It still has to come from somewhere.

4. Think opposite! If bush says east, he will go west
He says cut deficit, he will raise it.
It is just one of the bush idiocies

5. Cut the deficit to half of "what"?
I think that is the key. Half of what it might have been? I think we will get some slick definitions of "half" soon.
