Andrew Sullivan and Free Republic are featured blogs
on the C-Span website. Look at the botton right side of the screen. <http://www.c-span.org/> Of course, DU is not listed.

1. FreeRepublic is no blog
I'm sure the intelligence of Americans who watch C-Span would be insulted on this useless garbage.

Start calling in C-Span and push DU.

4. Exactly. FR is NOT a blog.
They could have a separate political forums/discussion board list, I suppose. How about mentioning that the swift boat guys run FR.

2. Are there more
conservative/repubs listed than liberal/dem ones?

3. They list FR and Sullivan first on the home page.
There are many links listed on the "Blogs" page. The point is that FR is NOT a blog. We need to e-mail C-Span. This is muddying the waters regarding the discussion of bloggers as journalists. FR is not a blog and is not journalism.

5. Well neither is DU, right?
I'm just saying.

I really can not for the life of me figure out how Free Republic gets all this attention. They had a rally on C-Span before the war (hilarious actually), they have sitting governors at their ball, and now they are linked on C-Span. They must have some REAL backers. How high does that go?

6. Both are partisan discussion boards / forums.
FR has been mentioned on NPR multiple times this month. That Swift Boat guy (Corsi?) is promoting them with the help of Rove no doubt.

8. They say any publicity is good publicity
and that is for the most part true. I think it is here too. It can only help us if people go to the Freep and read what is said there. I know I know the DU has its share too but for the most part I have no problem with what I read here, I might not agree but charges have to be backed up and links have to be provided and people ARE quesitioned here (the worst IMHO are the Dem in fighting threads).
