Hitler Used Christianity to further his agenda--Sound familiar?
This is an excerpt from Robert Schuler's website:
http://www.hourofpower.org/booklets/bookletdetail.cfm?ArticleID=3595

********************************************************************
Hitler was very involved in the church. He used the church and manipulated the church to accomplish his means and his ends. Here are some of the things that Hitler said in his speeches. He said, "The national government will maintain and defend the foundation on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collected morality." And Hitler went on to say, "Today Christians stand at the head of Germany. I pledge that I will never tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. We want to burn out all of the recent immoral developments in literature, in theater and in the press. In short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past few years." In January 1933, Hitler appointed Ludwig Mueller, who was the leader of the German Christians, to create a state church called The Great Evangelical Church, and in September they had 20,000 German Christians gather in the Berlin Sports Palace and there they affirmed their allegiance to Hitler as the leader of their church. Unbelievable! But there was a small band of men and women, theologians and pastors, who could see through this charade, who could see past this curtain that Hitler had placed in front of their eyes and could see the truth of the gospel message of who Jesus is -- a God who loves, a God who cares, a God who embraces all. They put together a group and on May 29,1934, in Barman, Germany, this small group of men gathered together and Carl Barth wrote a declaration which has since been called 'The Barman Declaration,' which established what Christianity was all about. Today those groups of churches in Germany are known as The Confessing Churches and they confess who Jesus Christ is and it is a wonderful statement. Martin Niemoeller preached a sermon later entitled "Christ is My Fuehrer," and he spent time in Dachau prison for that sermon. Most of the members of that Confessing Church were arrested and spent time in the concentration camps, and many of them died for their faith.

How this administration is using Christianity is so frightening! I'm calling on all Liberal Christians to spread the word that what this administration is doing is ANYTHING but Christian. Here is a great website to check out, (the graphics are kind of hokey, but very progressive Christian message):

2. that is interesting
I've seen people here post that Hitler was not Christian ( although I think he was raised Catholic). Whether he considered himself Christian as an adult or not - it sounds like he was using the Church in a manner similar to B**h.

3. Can you spot the difference?
The ones who shout about their christian virtues the loudest probably have none.

5. Hitler wasn't just chosen by the Almighty Creator, he was apparently
a descendant of God - like Royalty - so he had his own church...

"The Great Evangelical Church, and in September they had 20,000 German Christians gather in the Berlin Sports Palace and there they affirmed their allegiance to Hitler as the leader of their church."

:wow:

7. That is kind of like scrub. GW is always claiming God is speaking
through him. I think it God wanted to get a message out, he would pick someone a little more articulate.

It also bugs that heck out of me that the Christian right thinks b*sh is such a great Christian. He doesn't even go to Church! And they hate Jimmy Carter and Al Gore who are probably the best Christians I've seen in government.

12. True meaning of Christ
I have yet to see Dumbya perform a single Christian act. There's not a compassionate bone or cell in his entire body. His every act leads me to believe he thinks he is the Anti-Christ. His evangelical vision is more of the "Rupture" not the Rapture. I think all of those verote Bible thumpers are deluded escapists, mis-interpreting every teaching of Jesus. The Bible is a story book not a guide to true enlightenment. The authors of the bible did not understand Jesus true teachings themselves. They instead wraped them in meaningless ritual. Jesus is part of every man and woman, a stage in the evolution of us as spiritual beings. The Buddha is the next stage. They are an integral part of us in our subtle Bodies which can only be experienced by shedding our Egos, letting go of all we think we are, and experiencing what we actually are, spiritual entities on an evolutionary voyage. Our bodies are only temporal vehicles we inhabit, then move on to the next!

6. I've gotta add that I am in shock about Schuler delivering this message...
I used to see him preaching in the Crystal Cathedral years and years ago and thought he was a jerk. If he is still thinking and willing to potentially piss off thousands of people in his church and 100,000's of TV viewers to make the point that Hitler cloaked himself in religious-speak -- then, wow, I'm impressed.

:wow:

9. Yes, I was shocked too. But my sister watches him alot and
she says he doesn't take side politically. He is about the only tele-evangelist she will watch. For the most part they are shills.

14. I have been criticized for putting "1453 days of Bushitler" on my car
window for being a fanatic...Those criticizing today at lunch could not think of anything to say when I simply stated that everyone was in love with Hitler when he came to power.....Taking this pic to work tomorrow. Thanks.
