Does this man know the definition of irony???
"I think two of the great ironies of history will be that there will be a Palestinian state and a democratic Iraq showing the way forward for people who desperately want to be free," the president said.

irony: a means of expression which suggests a different, usually humorous or angry, meaning for the words used,
a situation in which something which was intended to have a particular result has the opposite or a very different result

1. It is ironic, if you begin the quote with, "despite our best efforts."
"to prevent these things from happening,"

i think he left that part out.

6. Irony is the fact that so many people he's actively fucking over
with his every policy proposal not only voted for him, but put their hands over their ears when you try to tell them why they've lost their job or their kids don't have healthcare or (fill in the blank __________).

Personally, I have no sympathy for those kinds of people anymore. None whatsoever. Too bad they're going to suffer, but they gotta learn somehow.
