(Slovak) Man peed way out of avalanche

A Slovak man trapped in his car under an avalanche freed himself by drinking 60 bottles of beer and urinating on the snow to melt it.

Rescue teams found Richard Kral drunk and staggering along a mountain path four days after his Audi car was buried in the Slovak Tatra mountains.

He told them that after the avalanche, he had opened his car window and tried to dig his way out.

But as he dug with his hands, he realised the snow would fill his car before he managed to break through.

He had 60 half-litre bottles of beer in his car as he was going on holiday, and after cracking one open to think about the problem he realised he could urinate on the snow to melt it, local media reported.

what an ingenious idea... I'm glad it worked for him and he could walk away from potential death.

We all should drive around with 30 liters of beer in our cars, just in case we get stuck in an avalanche. "Yes officer, that's my avalanche emergency kit!"

myself right out of this hole.... I mean.. imagine how much snow you could melt with the heat coming off a burning bale of weed. Imagine how happy you would be whether you got out or not.... lol... heh heh heh... ha ha hah....

While taking a ski safety class before a ski trip to Europe, my sister's instructor told them 'In the event that you get buried by snow, before starting to dig, spit! One can lose sense of direction after a bad tumble in the snow and if you expend a lot of energy digging in the wrong direction, it could cost you your life. Spit and see which way it falls; that would be down. Dig in the other direction.'

After some grumbling from the class about trying to spit in the cold, my well endowed sister said she would just take her bra off, see which way her boobs hung and dig in the opposite direction. A gent in the back of the class said, "I'm skiing with her."
