"Turnout down 20%, voters confused by choices."

The Iraqi election saw a dramatic drop in turnout when compared to the last 10 elections; down by 22%. Voters also seemed to be confused by ballots and choices. "This ballot has more than one name. Who am I supposed to vote for?" pondered one voter as he entered the booth. The men also seemed nervous that there were women present. "Will my dinner be ready on time?" worried one young gentleman.

As the day progressed, there was talk of candidates who were unable to get on the ballot. Al Zarquawi for one missed the deadline after changing his mind about Allah's commandment that nobody participate. "Now Allah says that all must vote for me, everyone else shall be killed." When told of his paperwork error, Al said he'd teach them something about DEADlines! and stumbled out muttering to himself. Nader also failed to qualify.

In a scene reminiscent of Florida, elderly voters claimed to have made the easy mistake of reading "Al" when it said "El" and accidentally voting for Bukka Anin due to the complex locust ballot.
