Rationally, I believe eventually the pendulum will swing back to sanity...
....but tonight, despite Cindy, despite the DSM, despite Rovegate, despite Bush's crashing poll numbers, despite the appearance the tide is....slowly....turning....I'm just feeling frustrated as hell and want to scream. Sometimes you just don't feel like looking at things rationally. Who can swing me back around into a better frame of mind?
:argh:

1. The right-wing has Bill O'Reilly and John Gibson
spinning everything.

There is no liberal Fox News.

How can things turn back when only one party has a 24 hour news channel pushing for it?

2. Not necessarily rational in my opinion. Resignation and passivity only
promotes stagnation and stagnation promotes degeneration and erosion.

Positive change needs a significant amount of energy and movement, and a moral compass which I believe is instinctively in part already installed within the brain.

Those are my thoughts.

There has to be effort in any swing to sanity, or you will just swing from one insanity to the other insane extreme.

8. What's your point?
....have you never felt fed up?....felt like blowing off steam?....that's what I was doing! I submitted to emotion over reason, and now I'm back. And I feel better for doing it. You ought to try it.

17. Chimpy I am very sorry.
I saw your thread title and the theory of pendulum swinging intrigued me and I went off on my own stupid rant.

Please disregard. I wholeheartedly understand where you were coming from now and I apologize for not being a better reader.

18. Hey that's cool....I've done that myself before....
...sometimes you (me, all of us) speedread a post, and then post a comment which upon reflection....wasn't the best response you could have given. Nice of you to post back.

:)

3. Look at it this way: It's taking more and more of the RW hate drug...
to have the same effect it had years ago.

They have to bring out ALL their guns to shoot down one embattled woman who dares to not back down - and they're still losing.

Their lies are having less and less effect.

4. Bush can't spin the truth
when every day people stand up and say why did my son die in Iraq, why
did you send him over there. There were no WMD's, there were no
chemical or biological weapons, Iraq was not involved in 9-11, WHY did you send him. Bush can't pull spin around Cindy Sheehan. Let them try
to trash her or her son, America is on the Cindy's side, and the army
considers itself a family and cares about those left behind. This is going to blow up bigger than Terri Schiavo.

15. I'm sorry
But I hardly see the right "losing" right now. The Bush Agenda is moving forward, Bush has gotten everything he's wanted with the exception of his Social Security bill through congress.. He's not once used his Veto-Pen.

When Congress resumes Bush will be getting his man on the Supreme Court.

90% of Republicans still hold Bush in High approval. Cindy's work is noble, but in the end I don't see it having a huge effect.

It just seems like every week there's a new Bush scandal de-jour that everyone here thinks will bring him down.. I remember several years ago it was Richard Clark, it was the 9/11 commission.. the Intel investigation leading up to the Iraq war, Sibel Edmunds,Downing Street Memo, now Cindy Sheehan They all just run into the Teflon wall that is the Bush machine.

The truth is cold, dark and hard to swallow.. Bush and his minions control every level of government from the top to the bottom. We will be stuck with him for the duration and probably will be under Republican rule for the foreseeable future.

19. You're right about everything....but no one ever gets away with murder...
....ad infinitum. Karma exists. Eventually, no matter how things appear to be rock solid tilted in favour of your evil grand plan....you get fucked. Something, the smallest, most unexpected thing, comes along right out of left field...and you...are...screwed.
I'm sure as hell no clairvoyant...but without this belief I for one would go right out of my mind. Having said that...I totally respect your post.
