Imagine if these true patriots gave a JOINT press conference?
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 08:43 PM by TruthIsAll
Would the NYT and WP send their reporters to cover it?

How about FOX? Would Britt Hume call them traitors?

Would CNN's Paula Zahn sneer at them?

Would Tweety tell us that it's a left-wing conspiracy to bring down the resident?

Would Sen. Biden diss them on his Sunday talk show?

Would Sen. McCain tell us that national security requires that Bush not respond to the charges?

Kristen Breitweiser
Why didn't the commission reveal the true facts about 9/11?

Colleen Rowley
Why were our warnings from the field disregarded before 9/11?

Valerie Plame
Are you aware that exposing my identity effectively destroyed an intelligence network designed to track movement of WMD?

Sibel Edmonds
Why can't I tell the American people what I know about corrupt government officials?

1. here are more candidates for the press conference
From the AP:

"Our comments are not just those of grieving parents," Paul Schroeder said in front of the couple's home. "They are based on anger, Mr. President, not grief. Anger is an honest emotion when someone's family has been violated."

Palmer accused Bush of refusing to make changes in a war gone bad. "Whether he leads them out by putting more troops on the ground or pulling them out -- he can't just let it continue," she said.

White House spokesman Allen Abney declined to comment other than to refer to remarks Bush made last week. At a news conference Thursday, the president said: "Pulling troops out prematurely will betray the Iraqis. Our mission in Iraq, as I said earlier, is to fight the terrorists, is to train the Iraqis."

The Ohio couple have long opposed the war and tried to dissuade their son from joining the Marines, but have made their views public only since his death. On Tuesday, they urged Americans to voice their opposition to the war.

"We want to point out that 30 people have died since our son. Are people listening?" Palmer asked.

More than 1,800 U.S. troops have been killed in the war.

The couple applauded Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a fallen soldier who has camped out in protest near Bush's ranch near Crawford, Tex., for bringing the war to the public's attention.

"We consider her the Rosa Parks of the new movement opposing the Iraq war," Palmer said.

Antiwar Protester Vows to Continue Vigil Despite Vandalism at Texas Site

By ELISABETH BUMILLER
Published: August 17, 2005

CRAWFORD, Tex., Aug. 16 - Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq who has set up a vigil near President Bush's ranch, said Tuesday that she was "very disturbed" that a local resident had mowed down hundreds of small crosses bearing the names of other dead American soldiers, and that her now 10-day protest was "only the beginning" of what she described as a growing national movement to bring all American men and women home from the war.

7. Except if we had them all in one location...
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 08:46 PM by calipendence
... there would be a "convenient" terrorist strike to wipe them all out with one big explosion, organized by "you know who", and then we'd have martial law take over while the fascists mobilize their forces to "quell the terrorist threats", and that would be the end of our democratic experiment.

I'd love a "summit" like this, but if we had too many of the "big voices" involved, I'd like to see some of them "teleconferenced in" to avoid this possibility.

Call me a bit paranoid if you like, but with what's been going on, what is exposed, and what these folks know, I wouldn't exclude this possibility. They also know that's why they don't have folks like Cheney, Bush, Rummsfeld, Delay, Rove, etc. in one place too.
