Just got home from the vigil.

Just got home from the vigil.
DU was represented, as I ran into Bear425.

Very nice turnout - I really didn't try to count, but I'm guessing maybe 200, give or take. We were in front of the Federal Courthouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and had folks on all 4 corners of this busy intersection. Seemed to be a lot of support from drivers in the area. There were some Ft. Laud. police there, very visible but not interfering. Lots of local press, and a woman I talked with said she was interviewed by someone from the NYTimes. I'll watch the news at 10 to see if we made it.

This was a mother-son bonding experience. My older son (who starts college next week) went with me - this was a first for both of us.

Anyone else in the area - Another activity on Saturday. "Protest in Solidarity with Cindy - TROOPS OUT NOW!". Saturday, noon to 3, same location.

2. 8th Avenue and 17th Street.
We lined one side of the block several deep and then started lining the other side.
