1. Used to live there. My best friend and several other friends live there.
:shakinghead:

AFAIK, BTW, none of my friends drive SUVs. The biggest car among them is an Avalon.

2. Its probably at only one station. By a freeway ramp.
There are a couple of those in San Diego that gouge you with "Last Chance" prices.
The ARCO station here in La Mesa is currently $2.73.

5. He who controls the spice, controls the universe.
Maybe it's time to start finding better ways to power our shit.

Besides, burning all these fossil fuels isn't really helping the weather much, either.

10. ExxonMobil is a bench-warmer globally
What really blew me away when I saw that table was just how small the biggest US company ExxonMobil is compared to all the national oil companies in the Middle-East and elsewhere.

ExxonMobil is a giant company making big money. Yet, if oil producers where on a football team, ExxonMobil would be on the bench most of the game.

4. It's still at $2.79 here...

Unfortunately, I had to spend another $.20/gallon for premium. I wish Harley would do something about having to run the good stuff.

7. I have yet to pay more than $2.50/gallon but that will change this week.
I'm down to about a 1/4 tank and the cheapest in town is $2.50. The cheapest near me (with my Kroger $0.10 discount) would be $2.52. As of today, anyway.

12. OUCH...
The highest I've heard anywhere was $3.79 (WTF??) in Long Beach, right off the PCH. One of my friends just moved to Long Beach, and I have a couple of friends in L.A., and it seems to typically be between $2.50-3.00 there, depending on how far inland you are. I also know people who live in the Vegas and Phoenix areas, and it's roughly $2.50-2.60 both places.

I'm in the middle of the country, and it's $2.57 here for the cheap stuff about 5 minutes from me. That's actually the same, or maybe slightly more than it seems to be in a lot of places.
