Republicans are all traitors who hate their country
1. Watergate
2. The October Surprise
3. Iran Contra (and attendant pardons of traitors)
4. 8 years of political and character assassination against Clinton
5. The Coup in 2000, election fraud in 2000 and 2004
6. Illegal invasion of Iraq (and lying to Congress)
7. Treasonous exposure of a CIA operative and her entire network

The list could be arbitrarily long; there are thousands of examples from which to choose.

They lie, they commit treason, they subvert democracy at every turn, and they put their party above all--including the interests of our country.

Every single individual who has ever voted for a Republican for Congress or for the Presidency is guilty of being an accomplice to traitors and an abettor of the fascists.

Republicans are traitors and hate America. There is no other explanation.

That's my thesis. Now I just need a title.

2. They hate America because
they hate democracy. That is why they steal elections, don't want to count votes, don't care what the people think, like the electoral college, etc. They hate democracy. And they hate freedom. That's why they love censorship, the Patriot act, etc. Repugs hate America because they are traitors who hate democracy and freedom.

4. I can't go along with a blanket statement

The very people you are trying to reach may think you are targeting them (maybe you are) and won't listen.

I believe "Republican Leadership" would be better for you to accuse, although I think it's an oxymoron.

There are bad Democrats and good Republicans. You can't condemn a large group of people based on some of their leaders, who I believe exploited a lot of honest peoples' beliefs, in order to enable themselves to commit these heinous acts.

12. I agree
Attacking the leadership is more effective for the cause than attacking "all Republicans." In fact, you might eventually drive a wedge between this atrocious administration and those "I've always voted Republican" Republicans who are actually not idiots, but have an anti-liberal, cavlier attitude because they've been heavily propogandized. If you can get even a moderate gain from that crowd, get just a few more of them to vote, I believe the Dems run away with the '04 election.

7. They also hate America because-
-they are dismantling public education
-they've opted to keep our energy independence in oil to the benefit of their friends and benefactors.
-they've drained our national treasury of trillions in 3 short years.

They are working hard to turn us into a 3rd world nation, while pocketing obscene profits that can be electronically moved anywhere.

18. You will not convince anybody with ad-hominem attacks

Saying all repugs are responsible for those things is like saying that a rape victim is responsible for the rape.

We need to reach out to decent republicans and show them how they have been deceived - not accuse them of attrocities that most of them:

a) don't believe even happened

b) if they did know the real truth, would be outraged

Calling them names will only make them more defensive and make them believe bush more. Not only that you will be living up to all the untrue things they say about us.

19. If you ever want to be truly disgusted
read Lawrence Walsh's book, "Firewall". Walsh was special prosecutor in Iran-Contra.

What's happening now is like a re-run with all the usual suspects. These guys have this stuff down to a science. What Cheney did with the energy papers is exactly what Poppy did with his correspondences that were subpoenaed - when asked to produce them - they just simply don't do it! Case closed. Who's going to go over their house and hand-cuff them - no one and they count on it.

They truly believe the law does not pertain to them or they can always pay another lawyer to get them out of it.

Walsh said these people don't just put up a stonewall - they put up a FIREWALL!

21. all the way back to the federalists
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 12:05 AM by Zorra
Jefferson basically had to fight tooth and nail against the Federalists to keep them from almost reinstituting monarchy. The Federalists are more or less the original republican party, and they were corrupt from the start.

" Mr. Jefferson adds: "Hamilton was not only a monarchist, but for a monarchy bottomed on corruption." The Federalists having a majority in Congress, passed an act to continue in force during the administration of Mr. Adams, declaring that "if any person should write or publish, or cause to be published, any libel against the Government of the United States, or either House of Congress, or against the President, he shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars, and by imprisonment not exceeding two years." A great many editors, and other gentlemen, were imprisoned under this act. Even to ridicule the President was pronounced by the corrupt partisan judges a violation of the law. Men were beaten almost to death for neglecting to pull off their hats when the President was passing, and every man who did not instantly prostrate himself before the ensigns of Federal royalty, was denounced as the enemy of his country. The following letter, addressed to President John Adams by the merchants of Boston, shows to what lengths that party had dragged the public mind in the direction of monarchy:

"We, the subscribers, inhabitants and citizens of Boston, in the State of Massachusetts, deeply impressed with the alarming situation of our country, and convinced of the necessity of uniting with firmness at this interesting crisis, beg leave to express to you, the Chief Magistrate and supreme ruler over the United States, our fullest approbation of all the measures, external and internal, you have pleased to adopt, under direction of divine authority. We beg leave also to express the high and elevated opinion we entertain of your talents, your virtue, your wisdom and your prudence; and our fixed resolution to support, at the risk of our lives and fortunes, such measures as you may determine upon to be necessary for promoting and securing the honor and happiness of America."

After the Revolution, Jefferson spent most of his time trying to protect the US from republicans and their slime. They truly were rotten from the very beginning, and the rot has become complete with Bush.

35. While I think it is a bit over the top to say
all Republicans hate America, I do believe that there is some truth in this at least when it comes to arch-conservatives.

Arch-conservatives hate

1. That lawyers are allowed to defend criminals who are clearly guilty.

2. That people in America are free to criticise the government when their leaders are in office.

3. That people have the right to vote even if they don't own property, have a job or pay a lot of taxes.

4. That they cannot force their religion on everyone else.

These things are what makes America great and they hate them. We hate the policies of Arch-conservatives. Arch-conservatives hate America.
