Those Of Us On The Left Have Had The Flag Stolen From Us! Reclaim It!

When I was in Crawford I had several people assume without reading our signs that my sister and I were freeps simply because we both were flying flags. That is really quite sad. One was even from our side!

In one case some freeps drove up and rolled down the window to get our pic. We stood there and as they read our signs, we watched as their huge smiles melted away. They quickly flipped us off and drove on.

This is clearly symptomatic of one sad truth, we on the left have lost the flag. Somewhere along the lines, it was decided that the flag belonged to repugs and war mongers exclusively. I have always rejected that. I try to work either the flag or at least the colors into most of my graphics.

I beg of you, from here on out, when you hit the street, when you freeway blog, whenever you are out representing, FLY A FLAG!

Let America know that we dissent because we love our country and hate seeing the ideals that the flag stands for destroyed to line the pockets of some pathologically greedy and violent oil men!

It is OUR FLAG TOO! We will not have it stolen by the fascist theocracy that these asshats are trying to build!

Long live freedom and ideals that this country are founded on. Long live freedom of speech and the separation of church and state!

I make snotty remarks about people being too ignorant and disrespectful to follow the Flag Code. Honestly, if they really loved their flag, would they sit on it?

Anyone who shows up at Camp Casey needs to bring a flag. I've got a 3' x 5' flag complete with pole ready to deploy if we're able to make it back down to Crawford on Saturday. (It's a long shot, I know, but...)

I don't care so much about the flag, or the Star Spangled Banner any more. Until our country becomes what it used to be, they are currently symbols of *'s policy of war and greed.

I'm just so pissed that now I tear up at the national anthem, not for pride, but because it has been overused and hyped to get our people in lock step. And the words "the bombs bursting in air" are now ours, not the enemies.

And I look at the people so fervently singing, knowing they are all brainwashed.

And I'm pissed that I don't want a flag on my car any more (put there immediately after 9/11), 'cause I feel it's also used as propaganda now.

the right was needling us back in 2003 about the lack of US flags at the demonstrations. We do need to take back OUR FLAG!

They came from the big 10 million worldwide protest in 2003. I carried the flag with the duct tape peace sign.

and will continue until either this war ends and our soldiers return home or it falls down in tatters in which case I will just replace it, to be honest, I don't understand why so many took it down when our soldiers are still over there?

I live in a deeply rooted fundie neighborhood, so how come there are only two of us that are still flying this flag?
