4. Yes, both of them voted against it.
I do not understand this at all.
Biden sounded intelligent when he spoke, and somebody in that thread said it was just hot air. That person was right. He was just preparing to sell out again but wanted his voice on record as if he had "asked questions"!!!! What a jerk!

5. Yeah!
Yeah, I flipped on the TV and caught it. I was really impressed. I had no idea he could be that forceful a speaker. It was outstanding and certainly wasn't expected.

One might say he ate the administration a new asshole.

7. Hillary, Bayh and Biden voted against the Byrd Amendment to cut
15 Billion from the Iraq Appropriation. Chaffee voted for the amendment but Olympia Snow voted against it. I was happy to se that Edwards got off the campaign trail and came back and voted Yes. I called his office yesterday....and they said whe was going back to Washington for the vote.

8. It wouldn't have been cut, just delayed.
Bremer said they had enough reconstruction money to go through late Dec. maybe January, so why are the repugs trying to rush this bill through as an "emergency?"

Byrd wanted more hearings, ask a million questions, hearings in several committees, an up to date reconstruction plan(the one they presented last week was July 23)...etc.

This just would have split the bill into two parts: one: troop support and money for Iraqi police, and two: actual Bechtel/Halliburton money.
