But I feel THATS how my original post was taken. So, I've deleted it all. I try and post something uplifting about what COULD have been a MAJOR catastrophe...and it ALL goes wrong.

I just can't do anything right can I?

1. Anything out so far?
Is there any media, like pictures, of the damage yet? I just woke up and heard part of the Superdome roof got peeled off, and a lot of the old shotgun houses have water up to the roof.

The Mississippi coast is devastated. But hey, at least the convention city was saved. Kudos to us!

6. me too- and thanks for being
a believer in the power of the unseen.

I honestly feared that the folks in the dome might be like being caught in a tea cup placed in a washtub that sat in a pool being filled and agitated- While i'm sure there are many who didn't fare well, i believe it could have been so much worse-

And for that i'm so grateful.

7. Seriously doubt that...
But I'm glad it didn't cause the damage that some were saying it would. Of course, the Mississipians got it pretty bad, so with good news comes bad.

I'm pretty darn sure that no amount of prayer, thoughts, or psychic mo-jo turned the thing, only nature. Of course, now the thing is headed towards me in Alabama. So, it ain't over yet!

12. wow, folks really are prickly ....

... i didn't take your post to be ANYTHING but a voice saying that they'd like to believe that hoping for the best for those who sat in New Orleans, which was supposed to (by ALL CREDIBLE accounts) be a complete disaster- a CATASTROPHE is how it was worded- was something that actually happened- and to express gratitude that it turned out to be a 'close call' with total devastation.-

DID and ARE and WILL people suffer(ing)? ABSOLUTELY- but it was not the 'ground zero' that it could have been.- and for that, can we ALL not be grateful, or relieved at least?

Seems to me, we could all use a major enema - or a real personal wake up call- we're killing each other with our picky offensive frustrations-

i heard you Temperance- and i believe i understood you- i'm sorry you felt the need to amend your statement of relief, for the many that have been spared- that isn't taking 'joy' in those that haven't been- NOR is it saying that global warming, and the abuse of our environment isn't a serious issue-

PEACE- to us all- and patience- comfort and most importantly- that nasty four letter word- LOVE-

"you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope someday you'll join us... THEN the world will live as one".

IMAGINE THAT- magical thinking keeps us from offing ourselves sometimes. It does for me- hope in the face of outrageous odds to the contrary.-

BELIEVE- without it you have nothing to live for-

By JUST focusing on New Orleans. So, I didn't know what else to do.

You obviously make a lot of sense in your comments and I'm going to have a think about them, so I won't end up again thinking like I came across as a total bastard to some people.

The advice is appreciated, thanks.
