anyone else have a loss? She lives in Gulfport and it's gone. We just got a satelite phone call today from a nurse...we had no idea where she was. At present she's in hospital in Birmingham Ala (they took her screaming and kicking just prior to hurricane thank goodness) as she's on oxygen.
She has no children or family except for my Dad and I. We don't have the heart to tell her the house is gone and she keeps asking to go home.
I don't know what we are going to do for her... there are so many thousands just like her.
God bless Miss governor who told Bush she had too much going on for him to visit and have a photo op.
she was very lucky. The last conversation we had with her she was refusing to evacuate ("I don't want to be with those crazy people") and the phone went dead from the heavy traffic of calls.
We had no idea until today what happened to her.
There will be many more stories like this... when phone lines etc get back up.
