The Bushies not doing an internal investigation
Shouldn't we be loudly wondering why the Bushies aren't doing an internal White House investigation to find the people who outed the CIA operative? What possible reasons can the Administration have for not taking the lead on this?

I mean, "Because we don't want to know the answer" is not my idea of a good reason. The fact that the Bushies are not zealously searching for a serious national security lawbreaker in their very midst shows exactly one thing: they are scared and they put their own political well being ahead of executing national security law. What could possibly be more damning than that? What other explanation is there?

We know this thing is very, very serious because the leakers have not come forward. If they had nothing to fear, they would simply free Novak to release their names.

2. Richard Nixon all over again
This whole thing smells. Reminds me of that "third rate burglary" that was finally investigated that uncovered the ugly underbelly of the Nixon Administration. MoveOn.org has a petition that they are circulating asking Ashcroft to name a special prosecutor. Of course, on NPR tonight, the Repugs said that a special prosecutor demand is only political, that this whole thing isn't a big deal. Yeah. Sure. And what Clinton did really endangered our country.

3. They aren't doing an investigation because
they are far above that sort of distastful enterprise. Besides, there is nothing to "investigate". They know who did it. They are just trying to brazen it out, hope it will go away, or something bigger will come along. They've gotten away with everything else haven't they?

4. The WH is harboring and abetting a terrorist in their midst
and they don't care!

Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy, America?

As the walls close in closer, watch the size of their American flag lapel pins get BIGGER:puke:

5. Because it's been alluded to several times today...
...this isn't an isolated incident. The corruption, complicity and criminal conduct runs through EVERY OFFICE of this Administration. EVERY OFFICE could lose staff to federal pen time. The leakers were just doing the leg work of cold calling journalists and committing treason, but the organization, the coordinated effort, goes all the way up:

Cheney
Scooter Libby
Rove
Bush
Rice
