However, she may never be able to comfortably travel overseas again. If I were her I certainly would never feel safe.

I mean, I am just trying to figure out how much danger she is in.

Hundred of her overseas contacts are dangerously exposed and incredibly vulnerable right now. I would not be surprised if the next chapter in this sordid affair involves news that the admin. has blood on their hands as a direct result of the leak.

On edit: I should clarify. I didn't mean specifically she had 100's of contacts. What I meant was hundreds of people connected to her and the front company.

I realize that is not important to Republicans but it is still classified.

She's 40 now. That means she was 22 years old when she started with the CIA. One article described her as having "Bond-girl" looks. Anyways, if she now works on WMD's and her husband was an acting ambassador when in Iraqin 1990, I'd think that that's some pretty dangerous stuff. Who knows how many contacts she has? More than two, I'm sure.

I don't remember which program it was but they showed her standing behind Wilson (who was seated) on a large boat. Her face was fuzzied out but you could see she had pretty blonde hair and had a nice figure. I think it's irresponsible of any news organization to air her picture - regardless of the fact that they didn't show her face. It was enough to put two and two together if you were a person who might have dealt with her in the past.

So she is in danger then.

that would tend to make me wonder if all the work she'd done recruiting these people, as well as all the money we taxpayers paid to do this, is now compromised.

this is a serious issue. it is more serious because it is coming from the white house. shouldn't the white house consider national security issues more important than political backstabbing?

she worked for the CIA for three decades. imagine all the resources she brought with that many years of experience, all the people she would know and would be able to introduce others to.

imagine the problems for people who work for companies overseas who may have known her but were not agents. imagine if one of those people were "Daniel Pearled" because of their association with her, and someone's assumption that this other American had lied.

Plame and her children are reportedly in privately-organized hiding.

Well, the "Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982" tells us something about how the intelligence community feels about the danger a covert CIA operative would be in if "outed."

It states:

Section 426(4): The term "covert agent" means -- (A) a present or retired officer or employee of an intelligence agency (i) whose identity as such an officer or employee is classified information, and (ii) who is serving outside the United States or has within the last five years served outside the United States.
