Pat Robertson: in defense of Rush Limbaugh
This is the reference but I cut and pasted it all below

"He started off playing a chauffeur in 'Driving Miss Daisy,' and then they elevated him to head of the CIA, and then they elevated him to president and in his last role they made him God. I just wonder, isn't Rush Limbaugh right to question the fact, is he that good an actor or not?"

-- Pat Robertson on his "700 Club" television show, using the example of black actor Morgan Freeman to defend Limbaugh's jab at Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Since I have to give an opinion... The man's a stone racist and has no business shooting his mouth off in the name of God or anything else. He should be beaten with 700 clubs.

8. There is. It's called Earth, as in, hypocrites who spew hate in Jesus'
name get no afterlife.

To that I can only say:

Amen.

10. I saw Robertson's defense of Limbaugh
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 08:51 AM by LibertyChick
and my mouth was hanging open, especially when he got to the Driving Miss Daisy part. BTW- Freeman was famous before that part, and there is no logic in Robertson's argument.

Stupid *and* nuts.

3. I suppose Robertson is uniquely qualified.....
to comment on someone's acting ability, since he plays a minister on television himself. (sarcasm) He is nothing but a lying, racist bigot.:grr:

His program is one channel down from M*A*S*H. I flip over during the comercial and laugh even harder at the religious/racist propagandist doing his work "for God".

To think that man has a following and they send him their money. Boggles any mind that actually thinks.

11. The "Christian Right" movement got its start as a reaction to busing...
in the 70's. Remember the impromptu Christian Day School movement to avoid send their kids to the same schools as black children. Pat's racist remarks do not surprise me at all.

14. Well, Pat Robertson started off pretending to be a Baptist preacher
Then he played a television preacher. Then they elevated him to a political leader and then in his latest role, he's the right hand religious leader to the Warrior King. And is he really that good of an actor anyway?

17. wow!
Does anyone else find this comment much more of a prejudicial statement then Rush's comment??? To me, Rush's comment was idiotic and inappropriate for a football analysis show. However, Robertson's comment seems just plain racist to me. Yet, I am sure there will be no news about this comment since it was on his 700 Club channel and not on ESPN. ::sigh::
