Which is the one on one Dem debate you'd like to see?
We all agree that there are a fine group of candidates this time around. We also mostly agree that the 10-man debate format leaves quite a bit to be desired. So, if you could engineer a one-on-one debate between just two of the candidates, which would you choose? Why? And would you prefer an open format, or a particular topic (ala the CNBC/WSJ economic debate)?

1. Kerry Dean debate...
Kerry seems to have a lot to say about Dean so I'd love to seem them duke it out.

Second:

Sharpton vs. Lieberman

2. Kucinich and/or Sharpton vs. Lieberman
That would be a stark contrast between people supposedly in the same political party but occupying totally different worldviews.

Then Sharpton/Kunich could take on Kerry for the next biggest contrast.

3. Dean-Clark
Would love to see them one on one. It would be a pleasure to see two quality guys try to convince us that one or the other would waken our country from its nightmare. Not sure if its still possible, but I'd love to see these guys team up and push Bush/Cheney all the way back to Crawford. Individually, they're bad news. Combined, they're awesome!

4. How about a series of two or three person debates
that eventually has all the candidates meeting each other. I'd also like a less artificial kind of format, but more of a free give and take with a moderator of some kind. The way it's been done all these years merely gives everyone a chance to spout canned responses, and I hate it, even from the candidate I support.

6. Excellent idea...Wish someone in a position of authority would
carry it out. A 9-10 person debate is a joke. No one gets a chance to make a serious impression. I'd love to see Braun or Kucinich on an equal footing with Dean and Clark. It would lead to a serious, killer debate where you might, accidentally, LEARN something about the candidates.

Unfortunately, I don't expect to see such a logical thing to occur in my lifetime.

5. Kucinich and/or Sharpton versus ANY so-called "first tier" contender,
as it would make clearer the weaknesses of the first tier. In the current format, DK goes virtually unnoticed, & AS is noticed only because he's by far the wittiest. His wit is paradoxically obscuring the validity of most of his positions.
