Recall outcome will lower Republican morale...
It's true, Republican popularity is in decline as well as their morale. In November 2002 the Republicans were at their peak and ever since the end of the war they have started to decline. Even though they don't admit it they are trembling because they know come 2004 they won't have full control of the government anymore. I think that by electing Bustamante or beating the recall itself it will be another huge hit against the national Republican party and the Cali Republican party will become a joke. We must do what we failed to do last November, get our turnout to vote against the recall and vote for Bustamante. A Republican will not win the California governor's race if we get our turnout.

1. It will also be a defeat for Karl Rove and the White House!
This will really lower morale!
It will humble them!

2. They'll be as arrogant as ever - though they will be defeated
They don't have the brain-power to be humble.

3. No matter what happens tomorrow, the repukes will look bad
and their morale with suffer

Arnie wins? very bad news......a moronic sex predator (criminal!) was installed in the gov's office. (if you saw the opening for SNL, you get the gist of what the next few years will be like with Arn as gov, if he isn't recalled or forced to step down in utter shame)

No on recall -- huge defeat all around. Esp want to see Issa's face.

Yes on recall, yes on bustamante: and watch Bustamante get to the root of the Enron raping of Calif and get real justice.

It's a win, win, win.....no matter what. I will sleep great tonight.

2002 - the Khaki Election
Look it up...kind of eery similarities. My hope is that the War Party gets smashed in 2004.

4. Republicans have no shame...
the media has no shame either. If little man bush invaded another country against the will of the world, nothing is going to stop them from over throwing another governorship.

5. Even if Arnie squeeks through and wins
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 10:19 AM by JohnyCanuck

This will likely lead to even more digging by the tabloids and the press into his sexual antics and history of bullying and abusing women. They repubs will have to live with ongoing revelations and publicity about their hero the Gropenator's scum bucket behaviour.

8. If Arnie wins, the CA GOP is screwed.
The fact that the state GOP has thrown its support behind a pro-choice, pro-gay, pro-gun control Republican (not to mention one who is a sexual predator) will alienate CA's hard-core conservative crowd, which will rip the party asunder.

Plus, Ah-nold has sworn to not raise taxes. Yet, he's going to 'deal' with the deficit. The only way to do that is to drastically cut services. That will be very, very bad for Californians, who may get a little dose of buyer's remorse. Either that, or he'll come to the realization that he has to raise taxes, which will be seen as a flip-flop on his campaign pledge.

Either way, if Ah-nold wins, he and the whole CA GOP is in trouble.

(What I don't get is, why couldn't they wait? They would have been in great shape if they had only waited until the next election. Politically, this was very, very dumb, IMHO. In any case, personally, I'm hoping the recall is defeated.)

9. Don't forget the attacks the GOP has made about Ahnuld's
advisors - "No death tax repeal" Warren Buffet wanted to hike up the property taxes, also.

If Arnie wins, and the California keeps going in the crapper (if he doesn't do the right thing like Clinton did, raising taxes on the wealthiest), we can point at Arnie as the (literal) poster-boy of the GOP and say - "This is their idea of fixing things????"

10. One rethuglican Problem.
They contradict themselves too much. They decry Clinton's sexual forays, but cheer ahnold's "apology". They scream "family values", then oppose a Cuban child's reunion with his father, let alone putting millions into poverty. They claim they will bring integrity back to the white house, then have the most lying, secretive administration in history.

Even with the *ss licking press, this HAS to catch up with them sometime. I vote for 2004!

11. I hear that at least 2 Dems in California are considered rising
stars who may run for Governor in 2006.

They've stayed away from all this recall shit like the plague. That's why we've heard little of them (at least outside California)

Any further enlightenment on this?

:kick:

14. I hope I hope I hope I have to post that I was wrong...
Said several times that Arnold is going to get elected, and I still believe that. My reason for posting that is not to be a "downer" but just because I'm so frustrated about politics these days. I believe that the money and interets associated with his election will be enough to let him ride out even this horrible mess. And that makes me so angry.

I sincerely hope I will be making a post about how wrong I was! It would be a HUGE boost for my morale.
