Bush Family Babysitter Killed in Fairfax
MAYBE SHE HAD A DEAL WITH THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER...?

THE BUSH FAMILY EVIL EMPIRE STRIKES AGAIN.

Bush Family Babysitter Killed in Fairfax

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46190-2003Oct5.html

A babysitter for the family of Marvin Bush was found dead Monday night outside the family's Fairfax County home, and police said that she had been crushed when her car rolled into her, pinning her between the vehicle and an outbuilding on the property.

Fairfax County police said Bertha Champagne, 62, had worked for several years for Marvin Bush, President Bush's brother, and lived at the family home on Fort Hunt Road in the Alexandria section of Fairfax.

Officer Courtney Young, a police spokeswoman, said Champagne had gone outside the house about 9 p.m. Monday, reportedly to retrieve something from her car.

The vehicle had been in gear, police said, and appeared to have rolled in her direction when Champagne was in front of it.

8. The Rove refrain: Let's not GET suspicious folks and be like THEM (Us)!!!
Surely if Bush does anything wrong saying so is being like a freeper.

GOD I have heard that song SO many times.

How on God's earth could anyone with NO info believe something was "most likely" an accident.

That is your opinion. Sure.

But to liken those who think it is suspicious to freepers is downright unfriendly to us good folks at DU who believe the Bushes are capable of ANYTHING.

ROVE is the one who uses this old saw: if Bush did it, saying so is like us blaming Clinton - a lie.

4. Happens all the time!
people are always getting killed when they go to get something from their car and, by sheer coincidence, it happens to be in gear and rolls into them and crushes them at that moment.

Nothing to see here folks, move along...

You tinfoil hat people just make me laugh. Ha Ha!

6. Funny post, but...
The story does seem a little strange. I hope people will follow the link and read the whole thing. I just can't picture how it happened. She left the house at some point in the evening to get something from her car, she was walking in front of the car and it just started moving? That's really weird.

7. I wasn't kidding around, Kay.
This is a very strange and unnatural death.

I hope it is investigated thoroughly by the proper authorities.

And I am out of tinfoil.

IÕve just ran out of it too.

Just one more thing to add on to the Bush wall of weird.

I wonder if our glorious liberal media will pick up on it?

Woo, if this happened to the Clinton family, it would be 24 hour coverage.

21. Hang on! Cars IN GEAR can not roll!
Have you ever tried to push start a car? You put it in gear and step on the clutch, then you start pushing it and when you think you have enough speed you release the clutch. If you don't have enough momentum behind it the car will actually STOP!

The only way a car in gear can roll is if the engine is running. So Why would she go out to her car, start the engine, then get out and walk in front of it while leaving it in gear?

This is has to be MURDER! Either that, or the story being told is not correct. Why start the car if you are only trying to get something out of it? If she was actually going somewhere, why get out of the car once you have started it, and why leave it in gear?

Either the Bush family story is a lie, or the police claim that the car was in gear is a lie. It has to be one or the other.

Hell, putting a car in gear is one of the methods you use to stop it rolling down a hill if the parking brake fails! This HAS to be a cover up.

23. You're being the Devil's prosecutor now ;)
But you are absolutely correct. Only a car in neutral could start rolling spontaneously.

In the case of an automatic transmission, an upward slope could prevent the car from moving initially. A slow build-up in torque could then cause the car to suddenly start moving (slowly increasing speed), to a maximum of maybe 5 miles an hour (if that). Hardly enough to crush somebody or prevent even a senior citizen from getting out of the way.

This definitely does not sound right. Any more details on the story?
