Which has done more damage, Clinton's Stain or Bush's Leak?

There's an old saying in Tennessee—I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—we can't get fooled again.

— George W. Bush, Sept. 17, 2002

Which "scandal" has done more damage to the office of the presidency?

Having your president blown by an intern, or having your cover blown by a resident?

Monica could have gotten herpes. The CIA agent could have gotten killed, and national security may have been compromised. I'm not saying one is worse than the other. That's for others to decide. Hence, the subject of this post.

More George Foolery

1. The stain
That was a nice dress... :P

George Tenet must really love this guy. Isn't this how assassinations usually start, by POing the CIA?

3. the stain
because the Republicans wouldn't let Clinton run the country as he should and had him bogged down in stupid investigations and partisan political crap.

11. Agreed. Notice the real damage is the GOP's fault.
The GOP owners damaged the country going after Clinton for essentially nothing (while Osama laughed at the U.S. and made his plans). Now the GOP owners are directly responsible for a treasonous leak for political revenge.

12. I just saw on NBC a report
Bush says leaker may never be found.

(Does that mean he'll never be exposed or that Bush & Co. did away with the body?)

13. It is obvious, the leak
How does an Independent Counsel go from a mandate to investigate Whitewater to a hummer in the Oval office? (answer: not legitimately) If only legitimate government business was investigated by the Independent Counsel this matter would never been on the radar screen.

A leak outing a CIA operative working on WMD is a compromise of national security in exactly the place we are theoretically most at risk. That is of course if you can believe this administration and the WMD's actually existed in the first place.

10. Well, that's what the R's are saying.
People like Bob Doorman, Joe Scarbrow, Rash Limbaugh are adamant what Clinton did was pure treason, and that what Bush did was not.

Now why would they say that?

hm ...

14. Bush On The Leaker
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 06:59 PM by TDubyaA
"This is a large administration and there's a lot of senior officials," Bush told journalists. "I have no idea whether we'll find out who the leaker is, partially because, in all due respect to your profession, you do a very good job of protecting the leakers."

15. Okay. You guys all had your chance. Now listen to the wisdom
of Solomon.

The two scandals are not "either or". They are a natural progression.
Because Clinton got his knob polished in the white house, Bush can DO WHATEVER THE FUCK HE WANTS TO DO, as long as he, does not get his knob polished in the white house.
