(or whatever # it is... I'm just putting it in the 40s 'cuz that seems reasonable to me).

Why would any of those people vote for the Terminator? Please correct my math, I'm drinking hot whisky toddies due to my oncoming Strep throat (kid has it). But, say, 47% vote "No", "Bustamante", and the true conservatives (say, 10%) vote McClintock, how would Sch. get more than Bustamante? Are there really people out there who would vote "no", "Schwarzenegger"?

6. The recall vote is different than the replacement vote.

If 47% vote no on the recall, 53% voted yes.

So, Davis would be recalled.

The replacement vote is a different issue. Candidate with the most votes wins. Technically, a candidate in a field of 130+ could win with as little as 2% of the vote.

9. Both the SF Chronicle and SJ Merc News suggested the following:

No on the recall.

And NO VOTE for the other candidates. They actually recommended to not vote on the second half. They could have recommended Bustamante.

These are liberal, influential papers in the most liberal part of the state. Pretty stupid, huh?
