Did we all notice that Bush cleared Rove under cover of recall?
Bush announced that the Justice Department still did not know which senoir officials "leaked" (read "committed treason") but they had cleared Rove nonetheless.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=578&ncid=578&e=2&u=/nm/20031007/ts_nm/bush_leak_dc

"Earlier, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Rove, vice presidential chief of staff Lewis Libby, and National Security Council senior director Elliott Abrams had each told him they denied leaking the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

"They were not involved in leaking classified information, nor did they condone it," he said."

ABC Radio News was reporting last night that Rove had been cleared.

Self-pity period is over. Let's get back to work. We have a country to save, whether it wants it or not.

4. The White House Can't Clear Anyone
That is supposed to be the job of the Justice Department.

Everytime Scottie is asked why the White House won't conduct an internal investigation, Scottie says the investigation is being conducted by the Justice Department and it is not the White House's job to investigate.

Hypocritical liar.

7. Bush 'innocently' said "we might never know who leaked"
Why would he make such a statement?....If they REALLY wanted the truth out, it would happen!...disgusting!!

Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 10:11 AM by havocmom
wouldn't that point to Rove and Cheney or their flunkies? Neither of those belicose pigs would take a fall and if they are both still standing, it would seem they are holding each other for ransom.
Can't be comfortable. Heh heh hee Bwahahaawhwww.

And do they really think the CIA is just gonna shrug and walk away? If the CIA does give that appearance, look out, the walls are gonna come down!

edit: typo in header

10. That's the key
The CIA is not so partisan as Bush believes. They care more for their own agents than for either party.

As for why they aren't offering a sacrifice? Pure hubris. They believe they can get away with anything because so far they haven't gotten away with murder, a hundred thousand times over. But that may change.
