I think we all should write letters to the editor to Florida papers demanding that Rush not be allowed to set a bad example for our children. Junkies should at LEAST be forced into treatment!

2. I think a "90 & 90" would be more effective...

90 Narcotics Anonymous meetings in 90 days. And make sure he gets those little "court mandated attendance slips" signed.

3. Get treatment, Rush. Do it for the lovely Marta...

You haven't told us much about her reaction to these charges. The Enquirer article made it clear she didn't approve of your "habit".

4. Rush Limbaugh is going to die from his drug addiction
That's the bottom line. Folks in freeperville can pray and hand wring in support or just live in denial. But one day, he'll wake up, slip his bare feet into a pair of slippers and keel over.

There just aren't that many older drug addicts walking around with rosy cheeks. So, instead of coming over here and trying to disrupt our conversations, the Rush "family" of fans might consider to stop wasting their time over here and encircle Rush with a loud, public chorus of encouragement to go into treatment.

I certainly won't do that. At this point, after last night, I could care less what happens to that cancer. He can hide out away from Florida or go back and be protected by his wealth. It's only a matter of time before he dies. At least we'll all know exactly why it happened. No white washing it. He will have died from the excesses of his drug addiction.

5. His "supporters" are "enablers" until Rush gets treatment...
And, yes, drug/alcohol addiction is the slowest, most painful form of suicide there is.

6. I was trying to think of names of old junkies...
and the only public one I can remember is William Burroughs. He lasted a long time. But he didn't nearly have as public and fast paced life as Rush. Burroughs didn't have to maintain an intense facade 5 times a week for hours at a time.

So, I think Rush may be on a faster track. Not to disagree with you about the slow and painful aspect of addiction. I just have to wonder how anyone can maintain a life styled like Limbaugh's and get away with it. I figure he's in for a dirt nap sooner than later.

Good riddance in advance, Rush.

7. Oh, I think Howard Hughes lasted a while....
But then, he hired Mormans to help regulate his drug use.

9. Keith Richards
the only living one that I can think of.

Under the circumstances, Florida Law Enforcement needs to do their job if he ever goes home and get him off the street. It's probably the only way he'll ever go into treatment. If the law isn't enforced then the police will be also responsible for his continued drug abuse.
