He read an email about how could he support a pro-choice (arny) candidate. In answering he seemed to have been asked a question about compassion for pigboy. He went off on where's the compasion, I know a doctor (of course he would not 'know' a store clerk, this acn get anybody yada yada yada. But had nothing even remotely to do with the email. You could tell he had response #4 mixed up with question # 3.

How complicated can that be?

Given the amount he's rumored to have been swallowing I'm guessing he wouldn't be able to go through withdrawal without it being obvious.

even with medical supervision. It's a synthetic opiate, so it's like that kind of withdrawal. By all accounts, alcohol and cocaine withdrawal are really the big nasties, followed closely by nicotine. By comparison, opiate withdrawal isn't quite so bad, unless you try to do it in one fell shebang, in which case you not only feel like dying, you very possibly could. Stroke is a distinct possibility.

You can't die from it though like kicking alcohol. But they flail around and convulse and puke. I would think that they wish they were dead. I am sure he is having a medical detox with drugs. They load you up in the beginning, so you are pretty loaded, then they taper you off slowly. Maybe he is still using.

cocaine has NO detox....no side effects that could kill you, just cravings. opiates and sybthetic opiates, along with alcohol, can be deadly. coke will kill you if the coke isn't cut down or if too much is used, but in the detox/rehab i work at, we only observe the patient for 24 hours unless they are a very heavy user, and then it is only a 72 hour detox, generally with no anti-anxiety grugs for the cravings. we do use clonidine to keep their blood presure in check, as most any substance withdrawl will cause it to rise, but even this is rare....

opiates, alcohol and benzo withdrawl is a whole different story. the effects of withdrawl are potentialy deadly....stroke, seizures....the detox from any of these 3 start, at least in our facility, at 5 days. stats are checked every 4 hours and they are additionaly checked by sight every 15 mins. heroin, opiates and methadone withdrawls are a terrible sight to watch...nausea, diarrea, cramps, hot/cold flashes, sweats and craving to boot. alcohol DT's are a close second with the shakes and seizures.

i sincerly hope el-rushbo 'aint trying to do this on his own...those sound like some of the symptoms...he is out of his league here...but a fool with an ego the size of his, there is no telling....

He was on Oxys for a couple years....I watched him as he thrashed in pain, leg shakes, insomnia, horrible sweating, and I tried to get him into rehab...too much money for him at too young an age..Hes hopefully off of them now, and I made him move out on his own after he almost ODed..just couldnt take it anymore...
I pray to god he isnt taking them anymore..got hooked after a doctor prescribed drugs to him for degenerative disc disease..
Its a horrible thing to watch..I took 2 weeks off work to sit with him...very very ugly..

I heard him say Monday that he had the 'sniffles'. Said something like , seem to have the sniffles,sorry if its bothersome, then went to break. This was around 1226 Eastern if anyone has tape.

I think he’s still in NYC and I think that, like all addicts, he has trouble regulating exactly how much drug produces the desired effect without over dosing.

As soon as it was obvious Rush wasn't in on-air shape, they should have either just stopped the show for "technical difficulties", or just had it be an all call-in show and had one of the guys who fill in hosting for him on the phone to help field questions.

The only thing I can think of is that Rush was afraid to skip a show while the drug story was out,for fear of losing the fundy portion of his audience (which is probably a good chunk of it), so he ends up spending three hours sounding like Gary Busey on a bender.

And did you hear that belligerence? Would you want to question a drunken boss while they were drunk?

McCarthy went this way. I remember hearing tapes of him drunk and ranting.

and able to conjure up some form of rational thought (a talent most of them seem to lack) - I would be screaming to get Rush off the air until he sorts through his 'demons' (ooh, scary word!) - They have to realize that this is going to make them the laughing stock of folks, and get people scanning the dial a bit more. I can live with his not wanting to say anything that might incriminate him LEGALLY. But if all he's said is that he doesn't want to say anything until he has "all the facts" (???), how do we know if he's clean or getting clean NOW? I think admitting that much would do more good than harm.

And yes, this is me, a man who works with substance abuse, watching and listening to the chemical imploding of a human being and loving it. In true Repuggly spirit I won't accept responsibility for my hatred, I'll just say that Rush has worked so hard to earn it.

He went to Philly Wed. night last week. The story broke Wed. night around 9 PM on Drudge. He made that keynote speech to the broadcasters Thurs. morning, then spent the rest of the day looking for a lawyer. Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Today(??) he broadcast from "high above NY in EIB towers". Unless he brought a huge stash with him, I'll bet he's out of pills and feeling the effects. Probably using booze to counter the withdrawal symptoms.

He either gets help TONIGHT, or convulsions begin soon.
