1. there was a discussion about this yesterday...
from what I could find, it was about 48% in 2002 and about 70% in 2000. (I was basing my calculations on how many voted voted for governor in 2002 and how many voted for President in 2000...but in 2002, since the choices were so poor (Davis vs. Simon) maybe some people didn't vote anybody for Gov. I read one account that said more people voted in 2002 than in the special election, but I can't verify that.

As of now, the special election is at about 53%, and that might go a little higher, depending on absentees that have yet to be processed. Underwhelming to say the least.
