Anybody know the street name for oxycotin or hydrocotin

I mean is it like Benny's or Reds or (boy am I dating myself) Dexi's or Hearts or ?????? Anybody know? Ludes??

Hydrocodone: Vikes (from "Vicodin", brand name). Bennies and Dexies are both speed, reds are Seconal.

...is a time released form of oxycodone, a semisynthetic narcotic derived from codeine but with about the same punch as the equivalent dose, in milligrams, of IV morphine. Grinding the pills up and then shooting them give one heck of a load of the drug at one time.

I guess the availablility of diverted oxycontin vs. heroin out in the sticks gave it the name "hillbilly heroin."

So part of it does come from poppies? Well well well.

Hey anybody got any "Rush" in DU? I want to cop a few of those mood enhancers for a weekend retreat.

Opiates KILL most people who get addicted to them. And taking them, or speaking about them in a joking manner, is no laughing matter.

Heroin and its opiate cousins have taken far too many talented people from us too early, and ruined the lives of many others: Kurt Cobain, John Coltrane, W.S. Borroughs, Iggy Pop, Miles Davis and countless others have suffered with addiction to these horrible substances and have had their lives compromised by their effects.

Have you ever seen heroin or opium addiction up close? It's not a laughing matter. Even worse is watching somebody go thru unintentional withdrawal because they couldn't get any dope. Unless you think it's funny to watch your friend puke his/her guts out while blowing diahhrea all over the fucking place, that is.

It amazes me how in a supposedly civilized culture we still "laugh" at drug addiction and make snide jokes about it. Yes, I've made jokes about it in the past, but it's become too personal to me. I've seen how "funny" it actually is.

Has anyone used these drugs daily for any length of time? What are the effects? What is the high like? The altered state of consciousness, at it were?

I had a terrible toothache last New Years and the dentist was closed. My brother in law had leftover pills after spinal surgery. I had never heard of them but when the Ibuprofin wasn't helping, and I was literally moaning due to the pain, he gave me a few pills.

I can see why people would get hooked. Nobody should drive if they take them. They make you drowsy but they give that warm cozy mellow feeling. Verrrrry enticing and very addictive.

When I finally saw the dentist and told him I had taken "Rush" he hurriedly rewrote another prescription.

The high is very good, and they are VERY VERY addictive. Remember, Oxycontin is in the same drug family as heroin and methadone, two drugs which are notoriously hard to kick.

As much as I dislike Rush Limbaugh, I still feel sympathy for him and his friends and family. Drug addiction, especially to opiates, is a horrible and destructive thing for EVERYONE involved. Wishing an opiate addiction on anybody is as bad as wishing s/he were dead-- the addiction is a living hell, and the detox is even worse (having witnessed it myself on a friend).

A pharmacist friend of mine informs me that one of the side effects of Oxycontin usage is serious, big-time constipation. Ain't that a shame?

I know several people that use it for Central Pain from paralysis. (Downer)

Often followed by a number 10,20,40,80 (for milligrams). I know a person who did alot of this stuff and a typical line when scoring some would be "Is your buddy still going to Ocean City (or OC) to get some 40's this weekend?" or something like that. I think he referred to it as smack on occasion too. However, I know he used heroin as well.

"hillbilly heroin" is a media/police buzzword.
