I have NO sympathy for Limbaugh
Why should I? I have too many other people that I feel are worthy of my sympathy: the 45 million Americans with no health insurance, in part because Limbaugh led the fight against the Clinton Health Care plan, or the millions of Americans with drug addiction problems, but are instead rotting in jail because they do not have pricey lawyers like Limbaugh. Sympathy for him is just not on my hard drive. After all, this is a man who makes fun of the defenseless. It's one thing to bash the Clintons: they can take care of themselves. But Rush makes fun of the homeless, AIDS patients, little girls (Chelsea Clinton when she was 13), the disabled and dead people (Kurt Cobain, the day after he killed himself). He used to joke about Janet Reno's Parkinson Disease and never apologized for it, even after he lost his hearing. He has always been a loud cheerleader for harsher jail sentences for drug users, he has opposed government funded treatment programs and medicinal marijuana for terminally ill people. Sorry if I'm not going to be a part of the collective group hug encircling Rush Limbaugh's fat body today.

Remember years ago when the Repub Party gave him a special award for being so valuable to the Party? They themselves told us how important he was. He got his plaque, he made his speech and as far as I'm concerned they can take his ass to jail.

Using the same metaphor as Mike Malloy does so often, I'll translate it to this situation:
"Rush, Satan is waiting for you in hell. He's waiting to pinch off your head so the creatures that inahbit hell can play soccer with it".

Good riddance.

4. Can't do it either. I've been on oxycontin for pain, and I struggled like
hell to keep it under control so I wouldn't become addicted. He's a hypocritical, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, stupid pig, and just like you, I've got much better things to do with my sympathy.

There are people with cancer who can't afford the stuff. Spare him the pity, especially on DU.

7. Think of all the people he had sympathy for......
Bill Clinton, Hillary, Jesse Jackson, Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Barbara Boxer, Al Gore, Tipper, General Clark, and many, many others too numerous to mention. Limbaugh has crucified every Democrat that had the nerve to criticize Repub leadership or the Repub agenda... He took no mercy on anyone. But we shouldn't stoop as low as them, right? Because we say we are compassionate and forgiving...Repubs don't make such claims, so they have a right to be hypocrites...

10. Absolutely! The guy is a bottom feeder.
His fall from grace is a benefit to all decent and caring people around the world. He's full of hate, hypocrisy, and rage. GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUSBISH!

If he gets treatment and recognizes how his hypocritical attacks against addicts were mean and vicious, and then apologizes profusely on air over and over again, I may start to feel some sympathy for his self-induced plight. But until that point, I hope he's incarcerated for a long time, living amongst those he demonized.

Of course he only has to rot in prison long enough for Jr. * to leave office, at which point he'll have a clemancy free pass.

18. Agree
Those who live by the sword...DIE BY THE SWORD!!

I hope he eats shit and dies!!

Just last week, he's going on about not knowing anything about it...to this confession on his show this afternoon, and the crocodile tears I'm sure he was shedding those last three minutes when there was nothing but music, and no Rush. He's a pig...he has hurt, degraded, and belittled the defenseless...those weaker than he...etc, etc.

Screw him...I, for one, am enjoying seeing his ass taken down a peg or two. His credibility is now shot. Just last week he didn't know anything about this...now this...

I hope he rots in prison and they seize all pigboy's property and everything, just like they would if he were a junkie who'd just held up a seven-11 for 50 bucks and a Mars Bar!

To hell with him! Pharmacists have been KILLED in holdups at pharmacies to obtain Oxy-Contin! Ever watch America's Most Wanted?
They did a show about 3 weeks ago on this very subject...pharmacists getting KILLED in holdups of pharmacies by dealers looking to get Oxy-contin. How many pharmacists have DIED to feed Rush's Oxy-Contin addiction, I wonder? And does he care? Bet not.

At least his parents named him right...the name "Rush" makes a whole lot more sense now, doesn't it??

Fuck him. I hope the little pigboy gets EXACTLY what he has for years advocated for other drug abusers...I wanna see him in an orange jumpsuit, breaking rocks, and waiting for nighttime for his nightly visit from Bubba!

Couldn't happen to a nicer, more deserving son of a bitch!

course, W will probably pardon him in the last days of his dying Presidency, anyway in 2004...but I'd sure like to see the pigboy doing some time!!

Remember...PHARMACISTS HAVE DIED BECAUSE DEALERS NEEDED TO PROCURE OXY-CONTIN FOR SALE!! HOW MUCH OF THAT OXY-CONTIN WOUND UP WITH RUSH?? PEOPLE HAVE FREAKING DIED BECAUSE OF THIS MAN'S ADDICTION, AND HE NOW NEEDS TO DO THE HARD TIME HE ADVOCATED FOR OTHERS!!

Like I say...if it were a junkie who'd just held up a Seben-11 for 50 bucks and a Mars Bar, they'd send his ass up for 25 years...why should Rush be treated any different?

19. Why are 3,000 posts stating "no sympathy for Rush" needed?
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 07:22 PM by Selwynn
Those of us who feel we can show something better than Rush by remaining compassionate (compassion by the way is not defined by the merit of the receiver) have basically long since stopped arguing with you.

So it feels like there is this completely one sided show going on - we all get it. Most of you feel no sympathy for Rush becuase he doesn't deserve if (as if that was the probaper basis for a good heart attitude). So why do you keep saying the same thing over and over again?

Are you trying to convince someone? Is it because you know there are those of us here who don't approve of your attitude so you have to keep trying to justify it? Is it because deep down you don't have a clear conscience yourself about how you're feeling and behaving and you feel a little too much like the Rush that you hate so much, and you're looking to justifiy it to yourself?

Or if none of those things, do you just like to hear yourself talk?

We all get it ok, you don't feel sympathy for Rush because he doesn't "deserve" it. We get it. You've made your point - three thousand times now. Can we move on yet?

22. Not Till He Gets What's Coming To Him!!!!
We can move on when Rush is wearing an orange jumpsuit, breaking rocks, and getting nightly visits from Bubba for the next 25 years...just like he himself would advocate for any random junkie who'd held up a Seven-11 for 50 bucks and a Mars Bar!

The truly COMPASSIONATE thing to do now is to make him hit rock bottom! If he squirms outta this, he will just go back to drug abuse, having gotten away with it.
Besides...pharmacists have been KILLED by dealers in holdups of pharmacies to obtain Oxy-Contin!! How many pharmacists DIED to feed Limbaugh's addiction?
Does he know?? Does he CARE?? Bet not.

The truly COMPASSIONATE thing now is to let him experience the consequences of his actions...he's the one always advocationg for "taking personal responsibility," right? Well, now it's time for him to suck up and take personal responsibility...and all the consequences that go along with his crime!

Actually, I don't know if that's compassionate or not, but it sure sounds like good spin to me!!

sorry there are seriously ill people who cannot afford to go to a doctor or buy needed medicine and I have to feel sorry for this self indulgent hypocrite? Why? He'll get the best care money can buy.

To me its typical republican propaganda that we should empathize with rush. Anything to get one of their own off the hook. They never seem to have compassion for anyone's failings, except one of their own.

They are now stuck with a DOPER& a GROPER. Couldnt happen to a nicer bunch of hypocrites. I'll save my sympathies for the ones who truly can not get the help they need, in this world. Instead of feeling "sorry" for rush- spend some time helping others, who really need it.

32. This is What Rush Limbaugh Thinks About People Who use Drugs
October 11, 2003

This is What Rush Limbaugh Thinks About People Who use Drugs: And What the Faux President Thinks About the Demagogue Drug Addicted Populist

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

Part I: The Faux, Demagogue Drug Addicted Populist on Drug Users

"We're going to let you destroy your life. We're going to make it easy and then all of us who accept the responsibilities of life and don't destroy our lives on drugs, we'll pay for whatever messes you get into."
-- Rush Limbaugh show, Dec. 9, 1993

"I'm appalled at people who simply want to look at all this abhorrent behavior and say people are going to do drugs anyway let's legalize it. It's a dumb idea. It's a rotten idea and those who are for it are purely 100 percent selfish."
-- Rush Limbaugh show, Dec 9, 1993

"If (Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders) wants to legalize drugs, send the people who want to do drugs to London and Zurich, and let's be rid of them.
-- Rush Limbaugh show, Dec 9, 1993

"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."
-- Rush Limbaugh show, Oct. 5, 1995

35. The Rest Of The Buzzflash
A BuzzFlash News Analysis
Part II: The Faux President on the Faux, Demagogue Drug Addicted Populist, Rush Limbaugh

"Rush is a great American. I am confident he can overcome any obstacles he faces right now,” George W. Bush was quoted in the Washington Post as telling his staff the other day after Limbaugh’s racist comments on ESPN and the first revelations that Rush was an illegal drug user.

Why was this Bush statement leaked to the press after Limbaugh was exposed on ESPN as a whining bigot who had to cut down the accomplishments of a stellar black quarterback to make white men feel good about themselves? Why did Bush make this statement when he must have known that Limbaugh was under investigation for popping thousands and thousands of illegal pills?

Because Bush needs Rush to spin the White House lies. Without the daily demagogic drivel of Rush and the FOX News White House propaganda operation, the Bush Cartel would collapse like a lanced soufflé. Bush would support Rush as a fine American if he were caught passing military secrets to Osama bin Laden. Bush would call Roger Ailes a great patriot if he were caught in bed with a goat and a 12-year-old boy. Without these two con artist clowns, the Bush Cartel would be exposed and many of its lead board members face prosecution under whatever patriotic regime replaced them. They are the vital link to keeping a large percentage of Americans misinformed and angry at the WRONG people for the woes brought upon them by the ineptness and greed of the Bush Cartel.

So Rush will get his “rehabilitation treatment” – and no doubt the Noelle Bush special treatment from the courts in Florida. Every drug user deserves jail and aids terrorists, except for the propaganda shills and relatives of the Bush Cartel, according to Rush, Jeb, and George W.

Here is what one of our readers had to say about why Bush needs Rush almost as badly as he needs Karl “White House Treasongate” Rove:

Buzz:

We all know that if (name your liberal here) was being investigated for buying huge quantities of black market prescription drugs, Rush and his fellow right-wing ranters would be having a field day.

However, with the investigation into Rush, nary a peep has been heard from any commentator right or left, minus the obscene Wall Street Journal editorial letting Rush off the hook before he's even been formally charged with a crime.

Wake up, lefties! Rush is CRITICAL to Bush's re-election plans. If Rush is seen to be a fraud to his listeners, they may choose to believe the rest of the right-wing agenda is a fraud as well, or at the very least hypocritical. In other words, the Bush administration can't afford to lose a single vote from its core constituency -- angry, middle-aged, white male businessmen.

Rush's lame response to the allegations of the National Enquirer, "I don't know what this is yet," is criminal. He's trying to falsely give his listeners the impression that this is some sting operation engineered to make him look bad. If that's so, then he should tell his listeners the National Enquirer is full of it. But he doesn't, does he?

What I fear will happen is that Florida, where Rush resides, will again play a key, dirty role in Republican presidential politics unless someone makes a stink. With a phone call, Governor Jeb Bush can probably have this entire affair covered up indefinitely, telling politically like-minded investigators to not bring charges or in anyway diminish the stature of the biggest Republican blowhard that ever came down the pike.

Ugly as it may make some people feel, Rush CANNOT be left off the hook on this. The heat needs to be applied so this story is NOT dropped and gets much bigger play than it has. Rush cannot be allowed to spend decades taking the cheapest pot shots possible for political gain and then be allowed to continued when the soapbox he has been standing on is in reality a bin of illegal drugs.

http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/03/10/ana03004.html

AND THIS IS CRITICAL DU'ers!!
ESPECIALLY FLORIDA DU'ERS...WE NEED TO MAKE A STINK, AND MAKE SURE RUSH GETS SENT UP...AND DOESN'T GET THE NOELLE BUSH "SPECIAL TREATMENT!!"

TOO BAD ONE OF THE SIDE EFFECTS OF OXY-CONTIN ISN'T TO MAKE ONE LOSE THEIR FRGGIN' VOICE INSTEAD OF THEIR HEARING...THEN HE'D HAVE TO SHUT HIS BIG FAT HATE AND SHIT-FILLED MOUTH!!

38. I considered Rush's hearing loss to be cruel and unusual punishment
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 10:01 PM by rocknation
like when that basketball player almost ended his career because one of his relatives needed a kidney (the team owner said he would have paid off the player's contract). As much I hated Rush, I was happy about his ear implant because no one should have to end their careers that way. Of course, at the time I thought the hearing loss was the result of some extremely inopportune disease, not something he should have prevented.

When the drug investigation story broke, he should have adressed it right away--confirmed or denied the story, confirmed or denied he was currently addicted, or announced that he was currently addicted and was getting help. By putting it off until after he got a lawyer and not returning to Florida where the authorities are waiting to question him, it looks like he's trying to generate remorse while going on the lam.

He says he doesn't consider himself a victm, a hero, or a role model. But he doesn't consider himself an enabler-maker, either.
