Unfourtunatly, I predict Rush will come-back strong.

Sorry Du'ers, but the man is a Pt. Barnum contepmorary, a showman, whom will attempt to use his drug addiction to his advantage.

Why do you think he said those things on ESPN?

Sure, he'll find god and say that god was testing him and he trimuphed, blah, blah, blah, etc....

Really, when he comes back he'll be a even more veihmant becuase he'll have to try to get some of his old listeners back.

I feel sorry for the man really, he has actually bought his AM radio persona crap, but yet is able to "Do as I say, not what I do."
Their are two Rush's, the Moral Crusader and the Drug Addict. What a hypocrite, I hope people judge him by his own words.

No, he's out of the race for a little while, but he'll be back to get the Freeper Storm Troopers ready to do his biding since they are unthinking brainwashed clones who lack any sort of spine to actually critically think.

I really hope I am wrong though, about my prediction.

1. Yeah, but he won't be able to say,
"Talent on loan from God" anymore without half the audience cracking up.

2. It doesn't sound like he understands the work ahead-

Immediately following this broadcast, I am checking myself into a treatment center for the next 30 days to once and for all break the hold this highly addictive medication has on me. The show will continue during this time, of course, with an array of guest hosts you have come to know and respect.

I am not making any excuses. You know, over the years athletes and celebrities have emerged from treatment centers to great fanfare and praise for conquering great demons.

They are said to be great role models and examples for others. Well, I am no role model. I refuse to let anyone think I am doing something great here, when there are people you never hear about, who face long odds and never resort to such escapes.

He doesn't acknowledge the amazing triumph of others in actually beating addiction and goes on to talk of coming back just like before. I don't believe he gets it yet but that's just my opinion.

6. He has no idea what happens to Moral Crusaders that fall.

Everybody likes to see these kind of people fall.

3. Freepers are a remarkably forgiving bunch
They don't mind a serial sexual offender as a Governor, and they certainly won't mind that the fat-ass, pilondial-cyst suffering, draft-dodging, pill popping gas-bag has a little drug "problem." All that matters is that he carries the far right-wing's water. Hypocrisy is a strength of the standard freeper.

his radio program. They'll cover up his relapse and use.....He thinks the 30 days is all he needs to do.....Obviously, he is not serious and just wants to go through the motions, get forgiveness then back to old behavior. He's a goldmine! Elvis had his handlers protect him and so will the repugs protect Rush. We know he won't survive.....

Be patient...the disease will take his soul....if he has one. I always said to myself, "this man has no soul or sense of shame. Now we know why, he was medicating it!

Thats why he will have to use again if he continues his radio show....

So, every time you hear another hateful lie come out of his mouth, no that it will indeed be the death of him.....

10. I agree - his "I am not a hero" was meant to plant "Rush is a hero"
into the discussion.

Thought it interesting that - as admited on Hardball tonight - the Feds and State police admit they knew of his heavy buying over a year agom and chose to view him as a user - not a dealer - and not an object of their investigation.

Indeed, police folk are saying that their usual procedure for someone who admits his problem and checks himself in for treatment is to not charge him - just to ask who his dealer was necause they want to jail the dealer.

So if you are a movie star, or a baseball star, or average Joe in the inner city, drugs are a possession crime - but if you are big in the GOP, there is no crime!

Sort of follows the US media rules on Bush lies versus Dem changes of opinion over time.

11. Great. Then Thursday's performance will just be a warm-up...
for the REAL degrading, public humiliation. I hear McCarthy made such an ass of himself towards the end that nobody wanted to acknowledge they knew him. And then he died of hepatitis and liver disease related to alcoholism.

13. But how much was the dope talking?
He may come back but I wonder if he'll have the same drug-induced edge. It's going to be hard to play the holier-than-thou moralizer after he's pucked his brains out for a month. He'll probably be like one of those burnt-out comedians like Dennis Miller, who end up bitter and unfunny when they can no longer get their wit by putting something up their nose.

15. I have a question
but I REALLY don't want to start a new "Rush" thread. In his little speech he gave today he said he had back surgery and became addicted to these drugs. I googled for information on his back surgery and found nil. Do any of you know if that story is true? Did he have back surgery?

18. I'm sure he did. I'm also sure he didn't get Oxycontin for it....
His little speech today was for the Palm Beach state's attorney. He knows that that type of lie (about the surgery) would be caught instantly. As for the drugs, Vicodin may have been prescribed, but Oxycontin is so addictive that no doctor that didn't want his ass sued off or license pulled would give him that unless they worked their way though a whole lot of alternatives.

19. I'm guessing you haven't known many junkies...
When Jeff Christie hits rock bottom, abandons the ridiculous bubble of sycophantic denial that his supporters have created for him, and takes off the mask that is "Rush Limbaugh," he will beat his addiction.

Until then, he will continue to live the lie in some deluded form, and will sabatoge himself over and over again.
