The setup is on for a repeat performance of 2002. During the election cycle, they will ratchet-up pressure on either Syria, Iran, or both.

We are in FULL Wag the Dog mode right now. I think Rove knows that it's the only thing that might save * at this point.

1. Seems the Bushies have been in WTD mode for three years now...
...without any sign of an end.

- War IS all they have...and all they will ever have. Before 9-11...Bush* was nothing...the country and the world thought of him as 'illegitimate'. Questions about his past and the selection dogged him.

- Unfortunately...WTD works for them because the corporate stenographer press rarely deviates from WH propaganda. They're still helping Bush* paint a happy face on the killing field quagmire in Iraq.

5. except for N. Korea, they lack a bad-boy evil dictator this time.
Assad of Syria has the persona of the King of Jordan or Mubarak, not Hitler or Saddam. the next war will be a harder sell. But fear not, Rove inc. is thinking up a strategery as we speak.
