Why Rush Will Get Off Easy
Things the major TV networks will never air:
1)People from left and right, who understand "El Rushbo's" brand of Conservatism.
2)Introduce “Conservatism ala’ Limbaugh” through his own words to a very large and diverse audience.
3)Rush’s very strong ties to extremely prominent members of the GOP.

20 million listeners; many of those 20 million believing and trusting in a heavily self-medicated man. Believing and trusting in Rush Limbaugh the man and his words. Limbaugh listeners vote 3-1 GOP. He's stoned, but he delivers.

Those numbers dictate the probability that violence on prominent media people could possibly occur. Years of influential demonizing of the "liberal media" has likely captured some extremists. Major media just doesn't have the courage to fight off the volume of attacks, both figuratively and possibly literally, that would occur.

FEAR will muzzle the incredibly huge and important story of an ambitious and intelligent right wing junkie, whose stoned daily monolog affects change in our Nation. Call and write the cowards and demand they do some actual journalism.

1. The real reason he will get off easy.
He's very powerful and has a gazillion dollars in the bank.

Leno and Letterman have to be ecstatic. Between Bill Bet-it, Arnold Gropenegger, Rush "Drugstore" Limbaugh, and Junior, the GOP is now the U.S. leading supplier of laughingstocks. It's going to be a funny campaign. I only hope the Dems keep doing what Kerry did at the last debate (poking fun at Limbaugh).

Bring on the comedians! It's open season on Republican a**holes, and there's a bumper crop this year.

6. Rush will get off light because there are currently two sets of laws.
One for the rich and powerful and then one for the rest of us.

9. But will a drug-free Rush still be Rush?
Assume he beats the rap. I don't think he'll get away with being a drug addict in the future and keep his job. He'll have to stay off the pills.

Assuming his brain cells aren't fried beyond healing, will an undrugged Rush still maintain his persona as the outrageous hyper-wingnut bastard his fans know and love? Or will he tone down?

10. It's the MONEY that will suppress and muzzle the true story
Rush Limbaugh is a back alley drug wheeler-dealer. He can say all he wants to about being hooked on prescription drugs, but they were not prescription drugs. The rest of us would have been in prison, with no hope of parole. :puke: :hangover:

12. Oh, I Dunno, It MIGHT Happen (Perp Walk)
Here's the Newsweek story that sez not to count out prosecution of users like him. (The rest of the quotes regarding his personal inadequacies are being included just because.) Btw, Howie KURTZ scolded us today on "Reliable" Sources, saying that we have a perfect right to HAMMER LIMBOsevic on the grounds of his politics, but NOT because of his personal failings. Yeah, O.K., Howie.

******QUOTE*****

http://www.msnbc.com/news/979355.asp?0cv=CB20

.... virtually every newspaper dredged up this 1995 quote from Rush: “Too many whites are getting away with drug use. The answer is to ... find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them, and send them up the river.” The penalty for illegally buying large quantities of prescription painkillers in Florida can be five years in jail, and contrary to some published reports, prosecutors do go after users as well as pushers—especially if they want to make an example of a celebrity. ....

(His most recent contract, signed in 2001 for eight years, was for $285 million.) But his personal life left something to be desired. Despite his fervent moralizing, he smoked a little pot and watched a little porn (as he has publicly admitted). His first two marriages failed. His second wife, Michelle, told Vanity Fair that Limbaugh’s father never quite approved of his career path, and that Rush would be depressed and deflated every time he got off the phone with his dad. ....

His self-absorption made dating difficult. Two women who dated Limbaugh told conservative activist (and Limbaugh friend) Paul Weyrich that they couldn’t seem to get his attention. “They both said, ‘I’ll never go on a date with him again’,” Weyrich told NEWSWEEK. “They did not have a good time. He talked about himself and didn’t seem interested in them at all.” ....

In 1994, Limbaugh married his current spouse, Marta Fitzgerald, a former aerobics instructor who is nine years younger (they met through a computer bulletin-board service). Shortly after they were married, a $125-a-plate audience became uneasy when Limbaugh called his wife onstage and then seemed to forget that she was there. As he ranted at Democrats, she seemed to cower and edge toward the shadows. ....
