How badly do you want a Democratic president in 2004?

I, like many others, will vote for the Democratic presidential candidate next November. But my anger about the Bush administration's contemptible policies and frighteningly extreme agenda has motivated me to do more to ensure that the United States presidency returns to Democratic control. In addition to contributing to this and other discussion boards, I regularly donate what little money I can afford to the Democratic National Committee. And most recently, I started volunteering my time (less than 2 hours per week) to a progressive, publicly funded radio news program called "Democracy Now!"

I have found great satisfaction from supporting the people and institutions who help to strengthen American society by standing up to Washington's conservative bullies and the corporate interests who finance them. And, although my efforts are small compared to those of many other dedicated Democrats, I know that what I do brings our dreams that much closer to becoming reality.

If you haven't already done so, please help to free our country from the grip of conservative Republicans who represent only the interests of America's wealthiest. Contribute some of your time or dollars to the Democratic organization of your choice.

after years of witnessing extreme reThug behavior, which I have written quite a bit about on this board, this apolitical 40 something went to her first political meeting - joined the D's and signed up for precinct committeeperson. As you say, my efforts are small compared to some on this board, but for me, great satisfaction manifests itself in sleeping at night and as you say anger management.

I strongly encourage others to do the same, for the bigger picture, and because the learning process is easier when shared. Also it is mindblowingly wonderful to meet and TALK to others that share your beliefs and goals, very refreshing to learn that rightwingmediamindcontrol hasn't yet mashed all that is good out of people.

I cannot take another four years of Repub rule. I'm beginning to take very shitty thing they do personally, and that's not good. I love my country, and will do anything short of killing to put a Progressive in the White House to restore America's once-proud legacy of beauty and liberty. Being a Deaner, I've given money I needed for groceries (i'm poor) to his campaign, and I go to meetups, and I spread the news via word of mouth. If Dean doesn't get the nod, then I'll do the same for whichever Dem gets it.....ABB!
